this is out of the blue, but i think it has the potential to be either great or a complete disaster. Either way it will do great at the box office

The Nederlanders have rights for Dolly AND My Fair Lady? Damn they have got some good potential cash cows on their hands!

Imagine if Hello Dolly AND Funny Girl were revived in the same year! It would be 1964 all over again! I wonder who would conquer the Tony's.

That seems like a great idea. Good she's still doing Twentieth Century too.

How about Christine Ebersol as Dolly?
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I think she will be fabulous in the role but she's so little!! I hope the headress is lightweight as she may topple over on that staircase. Then again those gavotting waiters can toss her around the stage like a salad, that could be a spectacular number.

So......this makes 9 new musicals Cheno is working on? Or is it 10?

I know! All I want to see is On the Twentieth Century!

She's way more Minnie Fay than Dolly Levi.
She could be great, though, but she'll look like Shirley Temple coming down that staircase. Actually, I think Temple was taller.

I'm not disappointed that they're doing Dolly. But I am bummed in a major way that Twentieth Century is not coming sooner.

Which Channing, PJ? 64? 78? Or the upcoming 95?
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I'm confused as to when ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY is ever going to actually happen. It's been delayed time and time again because of Chenoweth's various television commitments and then her unfortunate injury. Now, she's completely healed and available and yet, from what I've heard, even with Roundabout having a gap in their season, it's still not happening.
Casting her in DOLLY seems incredibly bizarre when there are so many other seemingly better qualified candidates to be had, but stranger things have worked, I guess.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

I like Cheno, but as Dolly? Isn't she too young for this role?

Carol Channing was 43 when she originated Dolly. Chenoweth is 45.

Cheno could be such a fun Dolly! I wanted Patti but I would love to see Cheno tackle it.
So Lauren Bacall me, anything goes! *wink*

I think the Liberace autopsy film containers might make a good musical.

When those containers are opened a rainbow colored combination of self-loathing and narcissism come flying out.

No!! Please make it stop. Why would we want Tinkerbell to play Dolly?
Chenoweth, because of her voice, always comes across as a little girl. She is not right for the role.
