Such a beautiful woman, huge talent and sparkling personality.
I had two friends on Facebook post this today as well.
Weird.
I have no idea why it was trending news today...
Good ol' social media.

LOL...oops!
Oh well...she's worth remembering!
The attempt to reanimate her to save the music industry failed and she had to be taken out

I had a friend who worked at Lena's record label. Lena was going from NY to LA on...the....train. (She didn't fly unless she had to)Her manager called and said "Could you get someone in Chicago to meet the train and bring her a decent meal? She'll be so tired of that train food by then and she has a several hour layover."
My friend LEPT at the chance to take Lena to dinner and said she's be GLAD to meet the train, take Lena to dinner and get her back on the train in plenty of time. Fine, fine.
The next day my friend gets a call- it's Lena Horne. "Darling thanks so much for the dinner invitation, but if I have to go to a restaurant, I'll have to start putting my face on in Pittsburgh."
So my friend packed a picnic and had dinner in Lena Horne's Berth on the train!
Somebody posted that on my facebook page too and I posted it in off topic this morning. When I researched it I found out it was years ago, ergo my ooooops post.

I saw this several times on Facebook as well.
She is one of those people that I have to stop and think "Did she die?" When certain celebrities leave the spotlight, if I don't specifically remember hearing about their death, I have to check the internet to see.
Tom Bosley is another one like that. I saw him on an episode of Maude the other night and I had to look on the internet to see if he had died. (He died in 2010)
Poor Lena. Did she die again?
RIP
She is one of those celebrities that you kind of always feel she is still here, just out of the spotlight.
