I'm reading it as
one hour before = anyone can buy two tix each
buying ahead of time = only students can buy one tix each

Anakela is right. I bought my student ticket for November 14th last week for $25.

Does anyone think that the regular rush will be terribly difficult? I'm a student, but wont be able to get there before the day that I plan to see it.

There are a certain amount of tickets held specifically for rush for each performance so availability isn't the question, the amount of people on the rush line in front of you is. As long as you get there early you should not have a problem.

Yeah. I'll probably be able to get there around 11:30ish the day of so I should be fine. I suppose I'll know better once it actually starts.

If it helps, I bought two student tickets last week for a Sunday evening performance, maybe two or three days after tickets went on sale, and the best seats they had were in Row O on the side.
It's only $5 more, so I'd say if at all possible, get your student ticket ahead of time. It's a small theater and a lot of people are excited about this show.

Hm, that's a tough decision. I wonder where the actual rush seats are located?

Obviously the best available seats are for weekdays and you're more apt to get better seats the farther in advance that you purchase them.
The theater is really small...I believe there around twenty rows and no mezzanine.

I posted on this is another Road show thread, but the $20 rush seats at the Public are few are far between, generally not very good, and very, very difficult to get if the show is popular. I'm talking about waiting in line for hours and hours before. At least the line is inside (It's starting to get colder after all.) but otherwise you could find yourself shut out if you don't show up many hours before they give them out. (Like 4 or 5.)

For another point of reference, I am going on a Friday night and my student seat is in the last row, S, but at least it is in the center.

The rush tickets go on sale an hour before the curtain. So if you try a matinee, i doubt you will have to wait 5 hours for a ticket. Considering an hour before the matinee curtain is when the box office opens. So I would imagine people would start lining up at like 11 for a matinee.

So to buy a student ticket, you have to go to the box office to get the ticket? Even if it's in advance - say in November?

Yes. they must be bought at the box office.
But you better hurry soon. Many performances in November only have 3-5 seats left. And a lot are sold out already.
So I am definitely hoping I can get rush seats, day of.

Well, I rushed today and I don't know why everyone is saying these tickets are selling out...I'm going to the first preview and I got great seats. And it's less than a week away.

A lot of November dates on the Public's website are listed are "sold out." And some dates I couldn't find more than 2 tickets. It is selling very well.

To nitpick, you didn't rush. "Rushing" by definition is buying a ticket the day of the performance.
ROAD SHOW has student tickets and they have rush. Two different things. The OP was asking about rush. You bought a student ticket.

Oh. Ha. He is. Oh, well. Even so: rush ≠ student tickets.
Haha!
Back on topic, so there are a lot of dates on TDF? This may be the deciding factor on me finally joining.

Ok maybe I'm exaggerating by saying a lot of dates. The first week of performances is listed on TDF, 10/28-11/2.

Haha, I have a mac, and you use Option and +/= key together.
But on topic again, I think those few days may make me join TDF!! Thanks!
