Hello everyone!
I realize that nothing has been officially announced (unless I missed it)...but I'll ask anyway...any updates on the cast recording of ROOMS? I know it was recorded and it has been announced that it would be released in late Spring...well, it doesn't get much later than this (summer starts this weekend)...any news would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks!!!

Posted: 8/8/09 at 7:23pmsomethingwicked is correct. The cast recording of ROOMS will be released somewhere around the September/October time frame by Time Life Records. It will include the bonus track "Click." Just wanted to confirm this information.

It can't possibly be better than the TALES OF THE CITY demo, could it?
I wish TALES better luck than ROOMS had.

Posted: 8/8/09 at 8:44pmPgenre, I worked as an intern with Geva last summer, the Rochester theatre that co-produced the MetroStage production, so I got to hear the demo. From what I can tell, it's a live recording of the show while it was at NYMF. There's a reader doing a few stage directions.

Looks like October it is:
On Oct. 14, Leslie Kritzer and Doug Kreeger, of Off-Broadway's Rooms will celebrate the release of the show's original cast recording with an 8:30 PM concert at Sweet Caroline's. Penned by Paul Scott Goodman (Bright Lights Big City) and Miriam Gordon, the Rooms event will also offer recorded highlights from the new CD.

I thought I read somewhere that this was going to be released today (10/06), but it's not even listed on TimeLife's website.

There is a "CD Launch Party" featuring live performances and songs from the CD next week as part of NYMF (http://www.nymf.org/Show-1240.html).
Not sure about the official release date, but it should be soon based on the timing of that event.
I'm very excited for that night/the recording to be released.

I thought I'd bump this thread up as ROOMS is now available on iTunes and Amazon.com (I don't know about other digital distributors?) It's £9.99 for us Brits, not sure about US pricing.
Unsurprisingly I never got to see the show and I don't really know the score beyond the odd YouTube clip. Just listening to the first Rooms and I think I'm going to love this album, bizarre Scottish accents and all...
(shame they spelt Kritzer wrong on the tags!)
