I could see Ruthie Henshall in the role - in several years.
She is still too young for the role right now.
She has a VERY legit soprano, along with her amazing belt.

She does indeed have a legit range (even if Ice Cream had to be lowered a half step for her) but based on her more recent work I really cannot see her coping with the depth of Margaret.
Its all tits and teeth from her these days. She was feautred on this appalling musicals show on BBC and hammed it up something awful. As much as I do love Ruthie I have seen nothing but one note performances since Roxie Hart. Even parts of her Marian in WiW verged on self parody.
If any of the big British names could soar with this in a decade or so would be Joanna Riding or Maria Friedman.

Joanna Ridding and Maria Friedman I think are both fantastic performers...but aren't they both belters? Aren't they both completely wrong for this?
What about Ellen Greene?
Just kidding.
