Posted: 2/24/12 at 4:55pmWhat is she doing these days? I watched her in Kiss Me Kate and listened to some of Scarlet Pimpernel (Storybook is fantastic) and I'm wondering why I don't hear more about her. She's awesome and she really sticks out to me!

She just did a wonderful concert in Waltham, MA with Brent Barrett this past Sunday. BWW Review is linked here:https://boston.broadwayworld.com/article/Rachel-York-and-Brent-Barrett-Bring-Spark-and-Sizzle-to-ISNT-IT-ROMANTIC-20120220

Do not remind me of that musical, BrodyFosse123. That was a mess of a show and she was better than that material. On more of positive note, prior to doing 'The King and I' at Walnut Street Theatre, she played the Witch in a production of 'Into the Woods' in 2010 in Waltham, MA and won an IRNE Award for it.

Right after that she starred as the Lady of the Lake in a production of 'Spamalot' in Maine:

She is a wonderful talent, as witty as she is pretty too. I truly enjoyed seeing her in a few shows and doing a fun interview with her.

She also played Marilyn Monroe in a workshop (?) production of Me and Miss Monroe last spring. It was fairly fully staged at the Baruch. She was wonderful. Absolutely channeled Marilyn. Would love to see what she could have done in SMASH!

Ooh, and almost forgot. She did The Best Is Yet to Come last spring, too. It was a Cy Coleman revue by David Zippel.

Brody, I hate to be "that guy", but The 101 Dalmatians wasn't a Disney production. Just a stand alone production based on the book, that was in fact quite terrible. Rachel was amazing though, as always.
She also did that tour of CAMELOT starring Michael York and James Barbour back in '07.
She really deserves more work on Broadway, but she's playing it very smart focusing on tours, regional theatres and concerts. That's where the money, and most of the steady work is.

Beautiful photos folks! I'm sure Rachel & her mgr./hubby Ayal work very hard trying to keep her busy,,,but honestly a nice principle role on Broadway for about 6 mos. is a much more lucretive opportunity.
Hoping a great NY role comes up for this talented versatile lady.

Posted: 2/27/12 at 2:29amShe's always been a highlight of anything I've ever seen her in. I have no idea why she's not being pursued for bigger Broadway roles. She's got more talent in her pinky than a lot of these starlets.

Posted: 2/27/12 at 9:09amThe last time I saw her performing, she was about ready to have her baby. So, maybe she's kinda just laying low and enjoying motherhood right now? (Yes, I know she's doing the concert thing, but that's the first I've heard of her since last year.) She's such a phenomenal performer!

I saw the Camelot tour. She definitely was the highlight of that show. Very talented and star charisma on stage.
She does have a solo album:

Posted: 2/27/12 at 10:31amIt's a mystery. She should be a HUGE star. To me, it's almost is as if she's too good an actress to be the kind of diva we expect on Broadway. She so completely disappears into a role that we're not seeing Rachel York as Reno, we're seeing Reno. Nowadays, we've become obsessed with seeing Patti as Rose or Bernadette as Desiree. Her acting and vocal range is astonishing; go to her website and listen to her recordings of wildly diverse roles.

Posted: 2/29/12 at 9:28amShe just needs a breakout role that propels her into the spotlight, even great talent in lackluster shows don't get attention.
