Rachel York as Guenevere!

Woo hoo! It has just been announced that Rachel York will play Guenevere in the new National Tour of Camelot with Michael York and James Barbour. Be still my heart. To hear her sing those beautiful L&L songs and have such a great role to play...Wow.

I must check to see if this tour is coming through Boston. If not, I will get on a plane to the nearest city to see Rachel play this part. What a kick it must be for her to recreate a role originated by her friend and mentor Julie Andrews. Wouldn't it be swell if this ended up transferring to B'way?

Wow again.

Rachel will be real good. I heard Leah Hocking turned it down ... anyone else hear that?

Found a more complete tour listing on the McCoy Rigby Entertainment Website. BroadwayAcrossAmerica only has a small portion of the cities.

re: Rachel York as Guenevere!

Wow, I don't believe this. ATC tricked me...someone saw that York would be in the Camelot tour, posted that it was Rachel, I got so excited...then the poster corrected himself and realized it was Michael York. I was very disappointed. But ha, now she will be in it! yay! so excited! I'd love to see this on stage anyway.

Phillie, here I come!

Believe it or not, I just bought a ticket for February 17, 2007. I am insane!

re: Rachel York as Guenevere!

Now that's a man of action! Good for you. I may end up seeing it in Schenedtady, too. The other option is Indianapolis. I have family there and I could make it a reunion trip and take the whole brood.

I really wish it were coming to Boston, though. Boo hoo.

It's a 2.5 hour drive from my house, but it will be worth it to see Rachel York as Guenevere!

Can't wait for it to stop in San Jose at AMT ... totally gonna ask the artistic director if I can go backstage afterwards! :) It'll all be kinda bittersweet, though, as the countdown has begun for no more tours here in San Jose...

I didn't know she was a soprano.

But I PRAY this will come near me. I love her.

All I know is St. Petersburg is where it's at apparently. They're getting this, Sweeney Todd, and The Wedding Singer. Lucky them.
