I think Christiane's acting is wonderful, and her singing is nice, but honestly, I think that her acting is best in her dialogue scenes... sometimes, I feel like she doesn't know what she's doing with her body during her songs. Still, I really enjoyed her performance-- but she wasn't my favorite actor in the show.

Beautiful performance if you just listen to it, but that "staging" was beyond odd.

She sounded fantastic, but I'm not sure how many tickets that will sell.

They'd have been better off with Wheels of a Dream.

I actually think the performance was just right- I think the demographic of people who watch The View would appreciate a belty solo ballad more than a rousing duet.

I already found the clip finally on the show's Youtube page, but thank you SOOOO much for actually taking the time to help me and finding the clip...means a lot :)

What's with the missing stanza: She didn't sing:

there was a time my feet were so solidly planted.
you'd sail away while i turned my back to the sea.
i was content, a princess asleep and enchanted.
if i had dreams, then i let you dream them for me.
back in the days when everything seemed so much clearer.
women in white who knew what their lives held in store.
where are they now, those women who stared from the mirror?
we can never go back to before.

Did they drop this in the transfer?? That would be terrible. It's a really important part of the lyric in explaining how Mother is feeling.

Noll sounded amazing! However, is it just me or did anyone else find it weird that the women's ensemble came out and stood there for two little "ah" segments and then approached Noll and put their hands on her when she finished singing?? I thought it was stupid and didnt make much sense. If they wanted to do a costume-less number with more than one person on stage, why didn't they do "Wheels of a Dream" or "Journey On"? Odd.

Oldschool: that stanza is in the show - it was just dropped for the performance on "The View"

re: Ragtime on The View today

What I found confusing and misleading is that is a solo and no other ensemble or chorus members are on the stage during this song.

I think that may be the reason for them not being in costume. number at all.

Also, I have see this production of Ragtime 8 times, and I did not recognize any of the other women on the stage.

Love her performance, but what on earth is with that staging?
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
