Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

Did they change Bill Austin's name to Bill Anderson?

The wallpaper on the movie's website has the graphic of the three pieces of luggage with each tag reading one of the possible dad's names. And in the graphic, it's listed as Bill Austin.

Yet, in this image from the trailer, the envelope is clearly addressed to Bill Anderson.

Odd and random I know. But, still.

Ooo dunno. Could be one of those "car driving behind the Hobbits" things.
I mean, Denzel Washington? Gun to my head..of course.

re: Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

My guess is that, most probably, since one half of the creating duo of ABBA is Benny ANDERSON and the address in the envelope says Stockholm, it was an inside joke, that they thought nobody in the audience will notice !

re: Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

Isn't it more likely that one of the fathers will be swedish and have the name Bill Andersson? That would be Stellan Skarsgårds role. Had they chosen Billy they could have had IKEA sponsor the movie.

But honey, it's spelled Anderson on the letter.

Look.

re: Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

Well in all the english movies about the roman empire Marcus Antonius is called Mark Antony so i don't see why using the english form anderson would exclude him being swedish? I also believe that Stellan was typecasted as a swede.

Edit: Obviously if the character indeed is named Bill Anderson then there is a thought behind it. It doesn't really point towards Australia does it? Another thing is that from a moral standpoint a big part of the movie should really have been shot in Australia due to their support of the band.

But that's OK.

re: Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

In the first Lord of the Rings movie, a car drives by in the background towards the beginning. It's a funny blooper.

re: Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

I believe (and mind you... its heresay) but you can most likely see this blooper/goof by renting the DVD or watching the film when it airs again on television. re: Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

re: Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

That's kinda amazing that a film that's been 98% visually tweaked on a computer would let a "blemish" like that get past... Would've been an EASY fix, I'd assume.

(Getting seriously off-topic, thanks to my dumb-a$$ question... sorry)

re: Random MAMMA MIA Movie Question

Oh you have no idea. It made my day so much.

Yeah..but...Anderson is not the Swedish way of saying Austin at all...Austin is Austin, and Anderson is Anderson. I can understand the logic if his name was Anderson originally and suddenly he's Anders. But he was Austin. And now he's Anderson.
I. Just. Don't. Know.
