Most audience members aren't Broadway fanatics. They don't have a clue who Kendra (or Stephanie, for that matter) are, nor do they really care. Of course in the OBC Kristin got entrance applause. It's Kristin bleeping Chenoweth, and a New York theatre crowd.

Oh, and I just want to point out that this made me laugh ->>

Chances of winning the lottery are very slim, cancellation tickets seem to be hard to come by as well! For the sit-down you may have a better chance, but to be safe I would buy ahead of time, esp if you can get great seats!

I just saw it this past Sunday... I loved it. A lot of people complained about Elphie dragging the curtain herself but I think it went fine seeing as she's faking her own death. She'd have to work a bit.

Did anyone else get the teensiest bit annoyed by Derrik's "As Long As You're Mine" ? I'm all for vocal vibrato but it seemed like he was doing it a little too much and he looked like a bobblehead doll there.

But he did absolutely wonderful everywhere else.

The audience I was in caught most of the Galinda humor with her vocabulary and most of the other little things.

Stephanie, I love your interpretation of the note - I never thought of it as being sent from Fiyero, but that would make much more sense to her following actions, I think.

Just all the negative musings are making me worry!

Chicago audiences are very reserved about entrance applauses. Chicago audiences would rather see Chicago actors than celebrities. case-in-point: "Sweet Charity" gave Christina Applegate muted applause, but Denis O'Hare received a thunderous entrance applause. Cathy Rigby also didn't receive an entrance applause in "Peter Pan." Having worked in Chicago for ten years, it seems that only celebrities who are known for theatre ever really receive entrance applause. Chicagoans are more finicky with theatre, mainly because there is so much of it in the area, a "named" performer means nothing to Chicago audiences.
