Does anyone know which performance is the opening/which ones(s) are designated as previews? I looked on the Encores! site and it doesn't say. Just curious, though I know with such a short run, it probably won't change much.
I didn't think any of the performances were considered previews, but I could be wrong. Thursday night would be my guess, though.
Hmm. I thought there was an official "opening," but I haven't been to an Encores! show in a while. I'm going twice, I'm really excited!
I know the Summer Stars series had about 3-4 previews, then an official opening.
For the concert series, reviews are usually published on the Saturday, so I would imagine critics see the show on Thursday and maybe Friday. So I don't know if there really is an official opening.
Oh, maybe I was thinking of the Summer series. Heh. Whatever. I can't wait.
Thursday is considered opening night. They have a dress rehearsal open to subscribers and others on Wednesday night.
That makes more sense, jewishboy.
jewishboy is correct, givesmevoice.

The production of Anyone Can Whistle currently playing in London that Mallardo refers to, sets the show in 1930, stages it as Brecht, gives it a mittel European flavour, has Cora and entourage dressed in fascist uniform and finishes with a deafening crescendo of marching jackboots.
Thanks for the inputs - I'll look for balcony rather than rear mezz then!
16 days, woo!
Just got my second row gallery seats! Hope they are better than rear mezz! :) Thanks again!
They will be. The problem with the view from the back of the mezz is that it's on a very shallow incline.
