I love Pink! That girl and her mom creep me out, too. And I don't buy it for a second...they just want free tickets to shows! lol
From the Los Angeles Times, March 28, 2007:
This is not the first time that Ferl has cried her way into an enviable situation. Last year she was at the dress rehearsal for the top 3 episode of "Idol" where she saw Mikalah Gordon, her favorite contestant from Season 4. Ferl got so excited that she started to scream--and an usher agreed to take her over to meet Gordon. As Ferl tells it, she was practically hyperventilating, and a concerned Gordon offered to take her back stage for a Sprite and some candy to calm her down.
"I didn't calm down," said Ferl. "I went back to my seat and watched the show and then Taylor waved to me and I got all excited again." (Ferl was a huge Taylor Hicks supporter and once dressed up as his No. 1 fan, even dying her hair gray to complete the costume).
Ferl and her family are hoping that Fox invites them back to sit in the audience sometime before the end of this season of "Idol." And the producers should know that Ferl is a sure thing when it comes to the waterworks. She said she's been to at least ten "Idol" concerts in the past five years and she's cried at every single one.
Ferl? Her name is Ferl?
Christ, I'd be a mess too.

Ferl's her last name. Though it's not a great last name, either, I suppose...
What a wonderful example that girl's mother is setting. "Honey, cry and manipulate people until you get what you want."
I never found it cute to begin with. Just plain pathetic.
Oh, thanks, Erika.
It is pathetic, Dottie, and I haven't understood the attention she's received from day 1. What's the big friggin' deal about a weeping fangirl???
Rath, I also think the media is partially to blame for giving her the endless amount of attention she received. It just reinforces that pathetic behavior.
That's my point. Why was the media all over her to begin with?
I can understand (but barely) American Idol showing it, as it was happening, but I really didn't need to see it on the morning news programs.
Right - showing an audience member crying, nothing wrong with that. But that's where it would have ended in saner times.
This thread makes me wet my pants from laughing so hard. That little b*tch was annoying. But the whole thing was staged from the beginning. Apparently the girl was there for a dress rehearsal the night before the actual Idol show. The producers saw her crying, invited her back to the actual show, and that night sat her right up front, with Nigel, the producer, like two rows behind her. It's not like they "accidentally" found her in the audience that night with the camera, it was all planned from the beginning. But believe me, if I had to look at, and listen to, Sanjaya in person at the same time, I'd be doing more than crying...probably laying in a warm bath with a razor blade....
We knew that from another thread, menzelelphaba, and the producers seating her in a place that's easy for the camera to find when they know she'd be crying is fine. It's atmosphere.
But again, that's where it should have ended. For the media to pick up on her is just ridiculous.

"I hope someone slapped her to bring her back to her senses."
Finally, EnchantedHunter, something we agree on.
