Hello everyone!

Since Christmas I have been on a broadway kick, especifically I'm obsessed with Broadway books!

Anyone have any suggestions as to what to buy!?? It would be cool to start a reading list here and add reviews and suggestions! (I'm really sorry if this has been done before, I tried to look it up on the search page....but I hate to say that this site doesn't have a very efficient search option)..

Happy New Year!

There's a great new book about director Gower Champion out called "Before the Parade Passes By." It's not very dishy. If you're interested in dish, read the new trailer trash biography on Ethel Merman. It's called "The Biggest Star."

When you just mentioned reading dish, I was just remembering a dishy paperback book, The title fails me right now, But it was way back in the 77/78/79 era and was all about Liza Minnelli and her partying at 54 with Halston, and doing a show (you know it was "The Act" when you read it) - it talked about her always wanting to hear she was better than her Mother, More talented and it was loaded with sex, drugs and dishy stuff of all kinds. The one thing I remember vividly is that instead of using her name (their pants would have been sued off!) they called her "Judy Mellon". I wish I had kept that thing, it was good to loan a friend for a laugh. Anyone else remember the title? I tried to google it with no luck.
I've been reading the script of "Master Class" as well as another which was actual transcripts from the Julliard Callas Classes.
There is a book someone told me of about Kander & Ebb, I believe it is called "Colored Lights" - I'd like to read that soon, it sounds great!

"Colored Lights" is great. Another great book is Cy Feuer's memoir, "I Got the Show Right Here."

I liked Jeffry Denman's "A Year with the Producers" (the Broadway show, not the film). Lots of fun and great insights to how they got the show up and running. "Colored Lights" was also great!
