How much does that suck?? Obviously, pregnancy is wonderful, but this was going to be her big, breakout role!

Any word if she's returning after a maternity leave? I've heard her sing amazingly on TV and read the rave reviews she received this past summer for TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA. I would really love to see her in THE COLOR PURPLE or, to be more accurate, OPRAH WINFREY PRESENTS: THE COLOR PURPLE A NEW MUSICAL.

Congratulations to Renee, though if I were a producer of the show, I'd push to replace her now. Besides the fact that they're going to have to tone down all that running around the character does, Nettie is a plumb role and it would be very unlikely for Goldsberry to receive a Tony nom with such a brief run in the production. Hard assed? Sure. In the best interest of the production? You bet.

Well I am certainly glad that you are not a producer of the show because I am really looking forward to seeing Renee in The Color Purple. I have my preview tickets in hand and, after seeing her this summer in Two Gents, I want to see her on stage before she has her baby. I have no doubt that she and LaChanze will be glorious together.

They won't have to tone down TOO much. She's still in the early stages of pregnancy so I doubt her water is going to break mid-entrance.

Adriane played a dif. role in the Atlanta production Wickedrocks.

Musicandpassion, I have emailed Saycon asking if these rumors are true that she is leaving "Wicked" in December to replace Renee. I doubt they are, but I will let you guys know what she says..

I know she was kind of hurt that they didn't even bring her in for any of the readings or ask her to audition, so I wouldn't expect her to be involved. Plus, they wouldn't let her out of her contract like that, it's not up till January 8th when Sho leaves, and I have a feeling she will be taking over then anyway.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I was dying to hear her on the cast recording tell me that she'll still be on the cast recording tell me!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! (I'm okay, obviouly I'm obsessed with her and I'll get through this) But, for the time being to do need a shoulder to cry on :)
