You never know - there was a 5th Anniversary performance, so there's no reason to rule it out completely.

re: Rent 15?

yeah but after Rent 5, then RENT 10, and then the movie.....it seems a bit played out. I would LOVE to see the OBC, as I have never had the chance other than on TV. But by RENT 15, it would look WAY too much like a publicity stunt. Just my opinion.

re: Rent 15?

If it makes it to 15 it would be cool to have the public vote who does it. Contact everyone who has done the show MINUS the OBC and ask if they would be willing to participate. Those who say yes will be listed online under their role. The public votes on who they would most like to see do the role again and the winners set the cast for the concert.

Sound a little too much like You're The One That I Want? I'm really not intending it to be like that. But I think it would be cool to have the concert made up of performers other than the OBC, and why not have the fans pick who they want to see most again? I know the purpose of a reunion is to reunite, and almost always its reuniting the original cast. But at 15, why not make things a little different?

If it does happen it won't be for 4 years anyways. Time to put any thought I have about it out of my mind. :)

It wouldn't be anymore of a publicity stunt than Rent 10 was. If the production lasts another five years, the producers can bank on another OBC reunion. Why wouldn't they do it?

re: Rent 15?

Would the cast do it? I would love to see the entire cast but I really would be happy with just seeing Mark, Roger, & Idina

re: Rent 15?

If they didn't do a 15 year would they put the 10 year out on DVD?

I love that "Idina" is a character of her own, ha ha.

They should do a Concert DVD for Rent 15. That would be awesome.

re: Rent 15?

A "publicity stunt" would be if they brought the OBC back every five years for a week or so limited engagement that would drum up sales of regular tickets to the show. Rather, these reunions every five years are just one-time fundraisers to celebrate an anniversary. It's not exactly like they're bringing favorite cast members back to the show in an attempt to get people to see it again.

re: Rent 15?

Your points are very valid. I just still see it a little too cheesy. For 15, something new and inventive would be nice. Not saying they can't incorporate OBC members, but not focus the entire thing on it.

re: Rent 15?

They could do a dream cast concert like Les Mis. I'd love to see that.

What do you mean by dream cast?

That's what they called the cast of the 10th anniversary Les Mis concert.

re: Rent 15?

I think it would be in better taste if they didn't, but if the show lasts that long, they might considering how many people would jump at the chance to see the OBC due to the movie coming out and all...

re: Rent 15?

So, coolkid11776 -- seems you're going to ask this same question every 2 months, huh?

Yeah...I heard they're going to do a Reunion Concert every 5 years until they all start kicking the bucket.

Also, coolkid11776 -- you missed the 10th Anniversary Reunion Concert...what makes you so sure you ain't gonna miss any future ones?

Exactly.

re: Rent 15?

In terms of publicity, I think the Rent publicists (and they have been a bit overzealous at times in the past) would certainly jump at bringing more attention to the show after the movie. And while their motivations may be off, I would personally love to see the OBC get together again at any occasion.

Exactly what I was thinking, if you didn't shell out the the grand this time around why would you pay more in 5 years?

re: Rent 15?

The celebration for "RENT 15" will probably be the fact that by then it will have hit the high school/community theatre circuit and will be performed by actual 15 year olds.
#24

re: Rent 15?

Except then it won't be, "I didn't recognize you without the handcuffs," it'll be, "I didn't recognize you without the makeup." Seriously, that's a lyric alteration they made for the High School version. God, this show is like Tommy Tune's visio nof Broadway: An old hooker who has lost most of her glitz and glamour but just keeps on going.

re: Rent 15?

Oh I can't wait for bad high school productions of RENT! On the flip side, there are going to be more than a few regional and even amateur productions that are going to be better than the original Broadway production. Gonna be fun.
