^^^ That would be my dream cast for the Paper Mill production this fall. Whether or not it transfers to B'way doesn't really matter—I would just die for a Danza/McClure Bialystock and Bloom.

There are so many roles I'd want to see Rob McClure do.... I kind of wanted to see him as Monty in "Gentleman's Guide." Maybe if they revive it in 25 years, he can play the D'YSquith family!

There are so many possibilities!! Personally, I would love to see Jason Alexander reprise his role as Max Bialystock. Let's think of other casting choices!

The Producers only works right if the two leads can carry the show. Everyone thought it would be this big juggernaut that would run 10+ years. But once Lane & Broderick left, no one could fill the theater like those two did. I doubt a revival now or 10 years from now would be successful.

The Australian production, with 2 very big local stars just didn't work. The Melbourne Production Company--I think a little more 'fleshed out' than Encores, was SENSATIONAL---everyone on that stage could have done Broadway. This show is SO dependant on getting the right people---on paper is totally different to 'on stage'.

Personally, I'd be pleased to see Lane and Broderick reprise their roles. However, if we're looking for new casting, how about:
1. Jeremy Piven as Max and Jim Parsons as Leo? (Hats off to the person who suggested Jim Parsons earlier in the thread!)
2. Jeremy Piven as Max and James Corden as Leo?
3. James Corden as Max and Jim Parsons as Leo?
4. Daveed Diggs as Max and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Leo?

I think Lane and Broderick are too old to be considered even if there was a thought of reviving this. Lane has already indicated he is done with musical theater.
Corden and Parsons would probably be a good combo but these roles are all about teamwork and chemistry. I would think this would be too much for the prima Donna Piven. He doesn't play well with others either.
