After seeing Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick reprise the roles of Bialystock and Bloom in "Trumped" on Jimmy Kimmel last night, I began to wonder if this was a tease for a revival of "The Producers." Has anybody heard rumblings of a revival?

Love the show but way too soon to revive.....besides, it is tough to recreate the brilliance of 15 years go. Fiddler and King and I aren't exactly burning the BO- and they are true classics. And I don't think people would pay premium price like they did for it originally. And their salaries would be astronomical.
I have no doubt that we'll see a Producers revival in the future, but it's going to/has to be with a celebrity duo that makes absolute, total sense. They just haven't materialized yet.
Why can't it be a revival with the original stars? Other than Nathan Lane supposedly being retired from musicals...

The original duo did the broadway show, the movie, then The Odd Couple and It's Only A Play together. I doubt they have any interest in doing a revival.
I believe, if I recall from what the amateur rights said, that all productions have to use Stroman's original direction and choreography. I wouldn't be interested in seeing a carbon copy of the original. Especially considering that that's pretty much what the movie was anyway.
You don't have to wait for a revival to see Matthew Broderick's performance. He does the same performance no mater what show he's in. Just wait for him to do anything else.
Someone could mount a revival with literally nobody cast in the role of Bloom and it would have the same impact as the modern-day Matthew Broderick does on stage.

Some people hate Broderick but I think he was perfect in Producers and Only A Play. Nathan is perfect in everything.
What about Matthew Morrison and Kelsey grammar?!
Agreed. WAY too soon to bring it back, if they're even thinking that. A revival should be something cherished from many, many, many years... That said, who's excited about CATS?!
Loved seeing this skit but I don't think we'll see a revival of this for a long time. It was very hyped and overexposed, and at this point for me, less is more.
I love this duo and am glad we get to see them still work together from time to time. I echo the other poster who gave Broderick props for his work in The Producers and Its Only A Play. I would also add Nice Work to that list. His style is not for everyone as he is not over the top, but I enjoy seeing him on stage.

WE GET IT. You despise Broderick. Let's move on.
Jim Parsons for Bloom and an African American for Bialystock or Jim Black[Nazi?]. Allan Cumming as Hitler and Ula--there must be hundreds to choose from.
And get rid of those dancing grannies-not funny.

Or can we get a gender-swapped Producers with Kristen Wiig as Leo and Melissa McCarthy as Max?
Jane Lynch as Roger? Kate McKinnon as Carmen?
Some pretty young guy as Ulla?
I love the idea of Jim Parsons as Bloom. That's perfect casting.

Since The Producers closed there have been two revivals of Les Miz (well, a little overlap of the first revival). It closed 9 years ago.
You will not see a Les Miz revival for a long time now as this one has not been setting the box office on fire. People have just gotten tired of it. One to many revivals will do it.
