This was totally off my radar of incoming shows!
Are Christopher Plummer and Brian Dennehy big enough "names" that this limited run will sell out and not appear on tdf?
(just trying to figure out if i should buy tickets in advance)
Who wishes they could go up to NYC to see this?
*raises hand*
I did the show...I was bored during it I am not going to lie. If I have to sit through Act 2 Scene 1...one more time...I don't know if I will make it.

It's a ridiculously boring show, but with this cast, how can you go wrong (remember how many shows we've said the same thing about, though).
CapnHook - this was announced a few months ago, but, obviously, this is the Official confirmation.
Trace - buy 'em in advance. It's gonna be big.
I love this play! I don't find it boring at all. And this cast should be stunning...

Bumping, because the complete cast has been announced: http://www.playbill.com/news/article/105109.html
New additions:
Byron Jennings as Rev. Jeremiah Brown
Denis O'Hare as E.K. Hornbeck
Other casting: Terry Beaver as the Judge and Beth Fowler as Mrs. Brady with Steve Brady, Anne Bowles, Bill Buell, Bill Christ, Carson Church, Conor Donovan, Lanny Flaherty, Kit Flanagan, Sherman Howard, Katie Klaus, Maggie Lacey, Jordan Lage, Mary Kate Law, Philip LeStrange, Kevin Loomis, David M. Lutken, Charlotte Maier, Matthew Nardozzi, Randall Newsome, Jay Patterson, Pippa Pearthree, Scott Sowers, Amanda Sprecher, Erik Steele, Jeff Steitzer, Henry Stram, Benjamin Walker and Andrew Weems.
What a great cast! When we read Inherit the Wind in school, they always had me play E.K. Hornbeck because I'm kind of cynical and sarcastic, we left out the fact that I'm a girl. Hahaha. But seriously, Hornbeck is an amazing role and Denis O'Hare is going to be fabulous!
I am *so excited* for this play! Hopefully tickets will go on sale soon.

I actually was in the show with theaterdude. We did crossed casting, and I played Hornbeck. I think Denis O'Hare will do a fantastic job. After sitting through the show for 3 months, one really wishes they could fast forward the show. The show can be interesting with the right cast, and I think this cast works.
I love Denis O'Hare! I'm always pleased to see him up on stage.

Wow, that sounds like a great cast list!! I can't wait to see the show!!
I would see Byron Jennings in anything. Brilliant actor.

I saw the original with Paul Muni, Ed Begley, and Tony Randall (as Hornbeck). It's a terrific play and Christopher Plummer is possibly the greatest actor now performing. Dennehy was very popular in Death of a Salesman, even though I think he did a rotten job, but I think those two names will draw.
My brother actually auditioned for this.. he didn't get it though.

This was my 11th grade play in 1967. While the students didn't think so, this was a very controversial play for Armpit, Pennsylvania. For the students evolution was a settled arguement. Even some very religious people with very, very religious parents were in the play.
Thinking back I now realize there were probably any number of boondock power brokers who were up in arms. I wonder if it could be done today in my school district even after 40 years.
By the way our production was a cut above most 16 year olds. I played the hell (no pun) out of Brady, but the Drummond was my match as was the Hornbeck. It is also a blast to play, It never lets up and builds nicely to several high points.
Is the climax when Brady dies or when Drummond weighs the two books equally, one in each hand?
AND, they have a $26 seat !!!!! Bless you !
Very excited at the prospect of seeing Mr. Plummer on stage (huge Sound of Music fan here!) and the fact that they are selling tickets for only $26!!!
I think its great that they are offering a reasonably priced tic given the cast.
Got balcony on the aisle for $26...
Works for me !
i love the lyceum balcony

Because the tickets are so low in price, I hope the show doesn't sell out too soon, or atleast until I get my ticket! I just recently saw the movie "Nicholas Nickleby", with Christopher Plummer and I was just blown away by his acting, so I can't wait to see him on stage in this.
