It would be great if her performances are on Lincoln Center Archives they could be released to DVD in a multi DVD set.

I am quite sure something could be worked out with all parties involved.

Mr Roxy...such a great observation. Agree.
Hope her theater performances, at least, will be archived at the Lincoln Center.

It would certainly be something to at least see her performance as Sally Bowles. I regret that I was not old enough to see what I know was a brilliant performance.

From the B-Roll/Press Reel for the 1998 Sam Mendes re-invention/revival of CABARET... here is Tony Award winner Natasha Richardson (and the original 1998 Broadway revival cast):

Thank you, BrodyFosse. I especially like "Maybe This Time".
She had a very pleasant voice, and her eyes and facial expressions really capture the essence of the songs.
Truly a great loss to the acting community, including Broadway.
It is a shame that she was not better advised and convinced to be taken to the hospital.

I heard there was some controversy when she won the Tony for CABARET. Truth? Lies? Should I do a search?

Well there was controversy that Cabaret wasn't Tony- eligible they forgot to apply for a license and missed a deadline.

I know "Closer" is in the LC Archive. I know someone who viewed it there.

Brantley's review for the CABARET revival was a flat out love letter to Richardson.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Rest assured that Anna Christie, Cabaret, and Closer are ALL there in the Lincoln Center Archives and can be viewed. Richardson's performances will never be forgotten so long as those videos remain in existence.

Brody thanks for those clips. She was so brilliant in the song Cabaret especially. So raw and powerful. I wish I had only seen her on stage.

Natasha was an amazing performer. Broadway will miss her great talent.

"I heard there was some controversy when she won the Tony for CABARET."

I don't know if controversy is the right word -- she was the clear front runner and it was widely expected that she would win. But there were some who felt that her singing in that role didn't have the qualities that one would be looking for in a musical star. Brantley has it exactly right in his review -- Natasha Richardson sang the songs the way the character would sing them, not the way that a "musical star" would sing them (since Sally Bowles is not a musical star). Some people had issues with that at the time, but I think that is part of what made her performance in that role so special and cherished.

She was a great, great actress.

A lovely piece on Richardson's shattering performance in Cabaret.

Fully Realized: On Natasha Richardson in Cabaret

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
