It looks like the change in the filming schedule for the second Wolverine movie has allowed him to advance the playdates a year ahead of original plans for his one-man show on Broadway. Michael Riedel reports that his 8-week engagement at the Broadhurst theatre will start on October 25, 2011.

Great and entertaining show! I saw it in San Francisco and by all accounts of the more polished show in Toronto, Broadway will enjoy this variety show ( more of a personal musical journey), featuring musical theatre and pop culture songs.
Hope this is confirmed!

So when's he supposed to start filming Les Miserables? I thought that was starting soon, too.

LES MIZ is supposed to begin filming in February or March, according to latest reports--although one needs a scorecard to keep up with the changing daily news.
The ticket prices for Hugh's inaugural shows in San Francisco and Toronto were relatively affordable. I hold out a fool's hope that might also be the case in NY. I know, fat chance. But I can hope. Either way, I'm there. Again. Worst case scenario, they'll make standing room available. I've stood at the Broadhurst, so I know fire laws allow it. Producers, whaddya say?
Right when I'm planning not to travel to NYC in Nov / Dec for once. Ugh.
Wasn't there a rumor about him bringing this show to London? Did that fall through or could it still be happening as well?

He told Baz Bamigboye in that Daily Mail interview that he was bringing the show to Broadway in October 2012. Now it is going to happen ( to be confirmed) one year ahead of schedule. It looks like the timing of the Broadway show and the London show are tied in with his filming schedule for Les Miserables and The Wolverine. With the supposed switch of the filming schedules and a delay in the filming of The Wolverine, it seems he may have decided to go ahead with the Broadway plans, as his schedule may have opened up for the rest of 2011.
Re London - I am not very optimistic that it will happen now, to coincide with the filming of LesMis ( probably very early next year). He needs to segue into The Wolverine presumably as soon as Les Mis wraps. Will he have time to do the show at the same time that he is filming Les Mis in winter? But maybe he can - who knows?
Let's hope someone asks him to clarify his plans when he does the media junket for his soon-to-open film REAL STEEL.
Yes, fingers crossed for more (confirmed!) news soon. Otherwise I may need a change of plans...

Saw Hugh's show in Toronto and it was fantastic. He's an old-fashioned showman and really knows how to work a crowd. He got three standing ovations during the show itself, and of course at curtain call. I'd see it again in a heartbeat.
How many hours will it be for the whole run to be sold out?

Now that the sounds of tweets on social media about the forthcoming show are very much alive -- we will face more competition in trying to crash the Telecharge site. LOL!
The show did not sell very well in Toronto and there were heavy discounts (in a city that rarely discounts.). Therefore, I am hoping they keep the prices in NYC reasonable.

I saw the show in Toronto, as did several of my friends on various nights, and all of those shows were sold out, or close to it....The show was not that deeply discounted....It was extremely entertaining, and he dazzled on stage....Ive never been a fan of his movies, but lovd him in The Boy From Oz, which is why I went....If I was in NYC during the run, Id be inclined to see it again...the night i was at the show there was a group of women from NYC sitting in front of me, whom had purchased tickets for each and every single show....They said he got better with every show, and every night there was something a little different
Don't count on it.The greed of the producers who bring shows to NY is astounding. The price however will not stop those who can afford it (and many who can not) rushing to get them so they can boast they saw the in show.
By heavy discounts I mean I was getting email blitzes regularly offering discounted tickets and I spoke to a woman who worked in the business office. Her exact words, "sales are sluggish and not meeting expectations." I never said he wasn't performing to big crowds. I think they were working hard to fill the seats.

There were quite a few emails I received during the run, but not a substantial enough discount that I would have gone to see it a second time...The night I saw it, I heard several people mention they paid $150 a ticket....When I purchased my tickets, the agent I spoke to said it was selling like wildfire...lol....Regardless, he's going to do fantastic in NYC....
I just hope they dont bleed people in NYC. The economy sucks right now. I hope they let people see the show for less than $100. A show like his is what people need right now. He's a rare breed in the entertainment field.

I agree. Besides Book of Mormon, I had not heard such enthusiastic comments heading out the door, in quite a long time.
For me, personally, his performance was a miracle of a semi- religious nature. I still can't talk too much about it, I get all
farklempt.
Two words: Tenterfield Saddler.
The show sold very well in Toronto--in the 2,000 seat Princess of Wales Theatre, with tickets going for up to $200 for "premium" seats. Playing at the much smaller Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway, I would expect ticket prices to be whatever the going rate is for a full-scale musical... if not more, given the limited run.
I was not in love with the show, however. I found Hugh to be extremely likable, and some of the songs to be quite good, but I think the show still needs work--ditch some songs (such as A Little Less Conversation); work on the patter and structure of the segments (which seem a bit random); showcase more of his acting (which comes through in numbers like Soliloquy from Carousel) and less of his dance (which is unexceptional); and I personally wanted to learn more about him in the show. Sentimental at times (there's an awww-inducing story about his father coming to see him perform), he does a good job of playing to his audience of adoring female fans. I found the show pleasant and enjoyable, but not rave-worthy (and not worth $200... I went on a discounted ticket in the upper balcony).

You don't go to something entitled "Hugh Jackman in Concert" expecting dance on the level of Balanchine, Robbins or Fosse. But I thought the dancing in the salute to his favorite movie musicals was exhilarating, lively and fun--in fact, it was one of the highlights of this very entertaining show that only got better in the move from San Francisco to Toronto. I'm very much looking forward to seeing it in New York--if I'm able to get through what will surely be a logjam at Telecharge.
This things going to sell out in two seconds flat. Never underestimate the power of horny middle-aged women and gay men.
Roxy you are literally the Old Man Who Lived in the Shoe! You won't be happy until all theatre is $1.50 with free 4pm dinner coupons included.
Apparently the first week of Hugh was sluggish (as it often is for shows in Toronto) and they did offer a discount code until the Fri, but as soon as the reviews came out on the Wed, ticket sales went through the roof (as it often is for shows in Toronto with great reviews), with premium seats increasing in price from $150 to $200, with the second week selling out.
Apparently they were worried it was going to be a loss for them, but in the end, it was a smash hit once word got out. If it ran longer, Im sure it would have sold out even longer. But that's Toronto. People only rush out to get tickets with word of mouth, with the later half of the run doing well. (Spring Awakening was like that too).

I bought a pair of "premium tickets" for the show in Toronto and it was worth every penny.
HJ is an amazing performer and the show is incredibly entertaining.
The thought of seeing HJ at the Broadhurst, my favourite bway house, has me thinking of a NYC weekend this fall.

And enthusiastic fanboys
In the San Fran show I attended, a 15 year-old fan of Wolverine admitted to Hugh that he was there to get his autograph...and was immediately asked to come up the stage to join his Broadway chorines - he gamely and shyly flirted with them. LOL!
