i saw the show around 10 times and thought that alice ripley was ok, her understudy kristen lee kelly (who played janet when it reopened after september 11) was alot better and a whole lot funny. as for john jeffery martin i was unforunate to see him understudy both rocky and riff raff, i couldn't tell you which performance was worse.

Yeah it was Jeff Martin.

I wasn't fortunate enough to be able to see the show
But from what I get from my cast recording Alice Ripley was definitely an acquired taste, as much as I like what she did vocally with the score now, it took me a while fully appreciate it. On another note, I think I would have given my right arm to see Raul Esparza as Riff Raff!

Yeah, I feel really bad for the people that meant to see Raul Esparza as Riff Raff, but got Jeff Martin instead. Mark Price, the other understudy, was pretty damn good though. Vocally anyway. Very strong high voice - perfect for Riff Raff.

I wonder if all these Charlie Brown icons are related? They all seem to sound alike. I always thought Charlie Brown was a nice guy. Guess I was wrong.

Speaking of Charlie Brown, Mark Price was in the revival cast. I got the chance to see him as Snoopy. He was absolutely wonderful! I wonder how he did as Charlie Brown.
Anyways, Price is no Raul by any means - but I definitely enjoyed his interpretation of the role of Riff. I can't believe how many people ripped Mark Price to pieces when he performed Time Warp on the Tonys. I thought he was perfectly marvelous!(But yes, I know, the whole performance would have seemed completely different if Raul was there instead.)

Hello? No one could be Raul. Was Sebastian Bach popular? Yes.

All of this Charlie Brown-y-ness is making me happy
Since I do love the Peanuts and I'm a bit of a Salley Brown myself - - - I can't really blame people for being upset that Mark Price performed at the Tonys, people want their Raul! I know I do!!!

Bach was actually pretty good in Rocky Horror. Somewhat disappointing in his Time Warp solos though - Raul, even Mark Price and Jason Wooten, ripped him apart.
You must understand...I am obsessed with the role of Riff Raff.

That was two years ago. I think people need to get over it.

Mark was in Mamma Mia! when Sebastian was around. Did you hate Jason Wooten's Riff Raff too?

I'm pretty sure he is. Although there isn't really anything to "get over" - I doubt there is anybody seriously fretting over this on a daily basis. I was really only joking since I love Raul so much, I thought that was indicated by the smiley...but who knows....

I enjoyed Jason Wooten's Riff Raff vocally. His Time Warp is powerful.

Jason split the Riff Raff pants. He was most beautiful as a Phantom.

I agree, Jason looked cutest as a Phantom....
As far as Jeff Martin goes.....
That boi worked his ass of in his Broadway debut learning and performing SEVEN tracks.. I'd like to see you do that ****.. Raul, Jarrod, and Sebastian dod their roles eight times a week every week.. for understudies, it is a VERY sporatic.. until you do it, I don't think you should trash.....
besides, like I said, I enjoyed him each time I saw him.... I saw three Rockys and Jeffy was my favorite.....
