Just got back from seeing "Hostel 2"... which starred, much to my surprise -- Roger Bart!! I had no idea... He was great, very sadistic in the end... and...
**SPOILER ALERT**
...gets his penis cut off! The movie itself was not as good as the first one, but Roger's performance was excellent.
Anyone else seen it yet?

He basically played the exact same character he did in Desperate Housewives.
The movie was OK...there was one killing, though, that REALLY was disturbing...I know it will give me nightmares. Those who have seen it know what I'm talking about (the girl hanging upside down...)

SPOILER ALERT
to answer Elphie3's question
Roger Barts Character, Stuart, gets dragged to Slovakia by his friend, where you can basically pay to kill someone. His friend, Todd, played by Desperate Housewives/24 actor Richard Burgi, is the one really excited about it, while Stuart seems not as into it. When the time comes for them to do the killing, both characters change midway. Todd suddenly wants nothing to do with it after accidently slicing a girls face (Bijou Phillips) with a buzzsaw. Apparently he liked the idea of killing someone alot more than the actual doing it. On the other hand, Stuart, at first seems like he doesnt want to do it, and it appears that he wants to help the girl (Lauren German) escape. Upon realizing that neither will be allowed to leave unless one of them is dead, Stuart punches the girl in the face. We find out that he has arranged for the girl to be dressed like his wife, showing that he has resentment towards his wife. He then accepts an offer from the people who run this torture syndicate to finish off the girl his friend couldn't. When he comes back, The girl slyly cons him into believing that she had wanted him from the first (and only) time they met (which in my opinion was one of the scariest parts of the movie when Stuart says "Goodnight Beth" when she had never told him her name.) After she tells him she wanted him, he unties her, and puts her on the ground, and gets ready to have sex with her. Another chilling moment in the film, while he hovers over her on the ground, he asks "Are you scared?" then a moment of silence. He then says "You f-cking better be." She then headbutts him and goes to grab a weapon from the various assorment of torture weapons. After beating him with what looked like a pipe, she asks for the code to get out of the room, which disturbingly enough was her birthday, 1212 (december 12). As she tries to escape many guards and the people who run the place come into the torture room, and they see that now Stuart is tied into the chair, and Beth is prepared to do the torturing, with what looks like a hedge-clipper set around his testicles. She says she will buy her way out, paying more than what Stuart has paid. The owner says that the problem is someone must die in order for her to leave. Stuart, in a moment of what could be described as delirium, calls her a "f-cking c-nt" (earlier in the movie we discover that Beth HATES being called a c-nt) Upon hearing this, Beth does not hesistate to cut his balls off, and literally rip what remains of his penis off, and throws it to one of the guard dogs.
Thats its for Roger Barts character in Hostel Part II.
hope this helped.

Posted: 6/10/07 at 7:39amand, just to throw my two cents in, I thought Hostel Part II was FAR superior to the first Hostel. Much more serious, good twists, and I found it MUCH more enjoyable than the first. I left the theater after watching the first really let down. With the second, I really loved it.

it was excruciating. But i love horror movies, and in this generation, i've come to expect extreme horror films.
and that was a very clever way of putting it, i actually had a good chuckle about it.

"Hostel: Part II" is a very good movie, well-made and achieves its intended effect. Superior to the original, which I also thought was terrific (bring it on!). Roth's vision is totally uncompromising which, given the storyline, works in a way that is unforgettable.
Now, I am a huge horror buff, and I pride myself for having a strong stomach. HOWEVER... There is one scene in this movie - the details of which shouldn't be revealed here - that was so disgusting, cruel, disturbing, and sad, I honestly couldn't get over it. It's very powerful, and crosses a certain line that that very few (if any) R-rated films have even approached.
Say what you want about him, but I feel that, within time, Eli Roth will be recognized as one of the saviors of the horror genre.

this one wont be as long as the roger part synopsis i did earlier
SPOILER ALERT
The girl hanging upside down, Lorna (Heather Matarazzo), is bound, gagged, and chained upside down, naked in the middle of one of the torture rooms (probably the nicest looking one too). Then a woman walks in, the client who "bought" Lorna. The woman then takes off her robe, now being completely naked, and lays in what looks like a really nice empty bathtub. Next to her is a long sickle, and she goes to work on Lorna, slicing and stabbed with the sickle, literally giving herself a bloodbath. After rubbing the blood all over herself, she grabs the sickle again slices Lornas throat, and since she is upside, it sprays with more force than normal.
The ending is basically the entire roger bart synopsis i wrote out before.
I wouldnt say that it was the most shocking ending in film history. Its a good ending but theres tons of other movies with endings that shock you, way more than this one.

I have yet to hear one person say they liked this more than the first. This was a lot funnier than I thought it would be in a very Raimi type way. Though it didn't fully work as such.
I did enjoy some of the killings.
SPOILER (highlight the following):
Why did he kill the little boy?

I actually thought part 2 was 100 times better than the first. Its more serious, keeps an even tone. The first one was so unbalanced that by the time the terror kicks in, I didnt care.
to answer your question
SPOILER ALERT
The kids worked for the people who ran the hostel. Whenever one of them screws up, they get killed.

To be honest, the only reason I went to see this movie was for Roger Bart. I thought the original was really gross and had too much hype. But I thought the sequel was far superior. It was great. The story was SO much better. You get to see it from two different points of view.
And in reference to the shooting of the little boy, I was seeing it again tonight with my cousin. The whole time he's going through the line of children with the gun, she's going "He's not gonna. He can't. There's no way. They wouldn't have gotten that past the MPAA. No way." And then he does it. I just kind of looked at her and went, "He did."
Good flick, though.
