A friend of mine saw DOUBT last week because she loooooooooves Ron Eldard because he's cute (oh well, at least it got her in to see a great play). At any rate, she was in the first row, crying during the curtain call, and Ron reached out and held her hand and said "Are you alright?" Nice man, apparently. She'll be thrilled for at least a month.
Okay?
Ron is EXTREMELY nice. When my friend and I saw the show last month, we went to the stage door afterward and he spent like 10 minutes talking to us, not about himself either, but asking us questions like where we were from, what we did for a living, etc. And his performance was great too so that made it even better.
He seems like a doll.
And he's gorgeous.

Here in England have been looking at the DVD of the complete run of his 18-episode (before cancellation) sitcom series "Bakersfield PD"...one of the greatest overlooked TV shows of all time. He was brilliant as the lovable, slightly goofy cop...one of his greatest roles.
LOL! That doesn't surprise me at all. I've had the pleasure of meeting Ron a few times and he is the sweetest, most gentle man I've ever met. And he's brilliant in Doubt - not a big shock there either! :)
He was phenominal in Doubt. Unfortunately he didn't come out after the show when I saw it, but that just gives me another excuse to revisit Doubt.
yea, isn't he majorly hot? I've seen him in person a few times, too - a sweetheart and cute!
that's interesting, mef. how so?
As much as I liked O'Byrne's performance, he was a bit over the top at certain points where I thought he should've shown more restraint. Eldard shows the necessary restraint for the characters. His scenes with Atkins are not all-out screaming matches; they're quieter, but more pointed. The tension and anger permeates and then erupts, which is wonderful to watch.
I thought that Eldard was phenomanal in Doubt. He was (by turn) charismatic, creepy, and affecting. After the show, I had a conversation with him, about acting, and he could not have been nicer and easier to talk to.
He's a DOLL! But, then again, everyone involved with this show has been nice. The Kerr has been a very lucky theatre!
he is the kindest, warmest most wonderful man ever to grace broadway. the night i went, i had a chill and he came out during intermission and personally spooned with me the entire intermission! then afterwards, he was so nice about inviting me into his dressing room even though he had just stepped out of the shower and was completely naked. i think he might be racist though, because when my wife came in, he got really cold to me. i wonder what that was about. maybe he's scared of koreans?
Yes, it's my understanding that it's June.

It's a good fantasy, and I do enjoy thinking of the things that Ron Eldard and Papa would do to each other, but alas, Doubt doesn't have an intermission.
it had several! i viewed it as an intermision whenever ronny was not onstage!
I'm new to this board, but Papa you have me in tears with this - you are soooooooooo funny!!!!!!!
Just curious: since Julianna and Ron are both in NY, anyone think they might have re-kindled? I'm just wondering because I think they were a beautiful couple and I was shocked to learn after 12 years they split.
