Tuesday on Live with Regis & Kelly, Rosario will be on...hopefully they'll show a clip from RENT. *drools*

FYI: Live with Regis and Kelly site says that Rosario will mainly be talking about her role in Shakespeare in the Park's Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Ok..am I the only one who's annoyed that she "went to the auditon on a lark"..and "OMG they expected me to sing".... Did she not know what Rent was?

Just kind of reaffirmed that they wanted someone who was more of a "name" for the RENT movie...

Of course she knew what RENT was; haven't you seen the stuff where she says she was a huge fan, and given that, how cool it was to work with the OBC?

I think she was just surprised in the sense that it was something totally new, that she'd never done before.

You all know perfectly well how resistant I used to be about almost every part of this movie; but Rosario has lots of great personality, and I think she's really going to do well. Or that we should at least give her a chance.

There are clips out there; perhaps she's one of those lucky people who just happens to be able to sing - almost a fluke - but she has a beautiful voice. That's not totally untrue for somebody else in the Rent cast, either.

Totally. In the past few months, I've decided it's stupid to be resistant when we've hardly seen anything yet... and that if we're going to be ready for the movie, we've got to have some faith that it's going to turn out right.

Emcee-- I think that you might be mixing up Tracie & Rosario. Tracie was a big fan of Rent and auditioned for it multiple times before being cast in the movie, (she kept losing her voice before the audition and never was actually cast), whereas Rosario wasn't really a fan of it until recently, I believe. (Rosario also says something about this in the recent Out article). However, you are right about her talking about how great it was to work with the original cast-- she has def asserted that before.

I know Tracie is the one who says she was a really, really big RENThead, and that she auditioned for the show a billion times, etc, etc. But I do think I've seen at least some mention of Rosario having been a fan of the show - if a milder one than Tracie, at that. Rosario would've been about 15 or 16 when the OBC was still on stage, I think.

she's so funny. I love the "popped cherry" comment. And again, stop judging her on every little thing she says or does. I can imagine how some of you would react if the ENTIRE cast was new. So what if she recently became a fan of RENT, that doesn't make her less than anyone else.
