Come on, I mean I guess it's good that she is caring for her son.. but a broken wrist? Really?

Posted: 7/29/08 at 1:33amYes. A broken wrist Judas. Her son is more important to her than a performance of Les Miz at the Hollywood Bowl. Deal with it. You are no one to sit there and judge her for her decision to put her son first. Deal with it. Life goes on.

Life also goes on if your child breaks their wrist.
this concert is a huge deal.

Really? You think something put up at 2:30 this afternoon wasn't talked about until now? This is a Broadway board, try a little harder.

What?

Posted: 7/29/08 at 1:42amI'm sorry that was jumbled. The announcement was originally put up at 2:30. The OP really thought that no one here has heard about it until now at 1:30.

TooDarnHot, the concert is obviously not that big of a deal to Rosie O'Donnell but her son is. It's not as if the concert is not going on without her. They've already found a replacement and the show will go on.
Rosie did what she felt she needed to do for herself and for her son. Her family comes first and that shouldn't be questioned by you or anyone else on this board. She doesn't owe you anything. So GET.OVER.IT.

Posted: 7/29/08 at 2:56amDid you see the x-ray of his wrist on Rosie's blog? I'm a physician and I can tell you that it a pretty serious break...usually such fractures need surgery to realign the bones. I can see why a mom would want to be with her child during this time.

oh, but his OTHER mother will be with him.
Rosie "withdrawls" ? just got back from the latest Rosie 'Broadway Cruise' and have had enough Rosie to last me for the next couple of years...

Posted: 7/29/08 at 5:37amI think it's fine she is choosing her family, I'm now just curious why Retroboy seems to be taking this thread as a personal attack or something.

Posted: 7/29/08 at 10:08amRuth Williamson will probably be better anyway. Obviously not as big a name as Rosie, but her performance should not disappoint.

Rosie withdraws.
Not withdrawals, unless you're looking at her bank statement.
And not withdrawls, ever. Not even in the South.
And they should stop calling this an "all star" version of Les Miz. It's not. Especially since the biggest star they had just dropped out.

Rosie withdrawls: Twitches, incoherent rambling, puking a lot, hallucinations.
Honestly, I'm all for taking care of your kid but Jesus! A broken wrist? Oh, these parents today freaking out over their child's every boo-boo. Don't they know they are teaching their children to be co-dependent wimps?

Why exactly does she need to be hovering over her kid when his arm's in a cast and he's sleeping a lot... or sitting there recovering.
How is that helping him? After about an hour, if I were her son, I'd tell her to go do something and leave me alone.
Does she always dote on her kids like that?
A little too clingy and obsessive, IMO.

When my then-4-year old son broke his wrist, he whined for about a day til the swelling went down, then he quickly figured out what a cool weapon the cast could be.
I figured he'd be just fine after that.

Posted: 7/29/08 at 11:27amI agree, I understand family first but really its a broken wrist, people have real crisis' happening in their life (death etc) and still manage to perform, it just seems really, I don't know, Silly to withdraw over something so uneventful!
