Posted: 2/15/09 at 1:43pmOlga Merediz has played a number of "white roles" before. Though I see where you're coming from. I don't know, if people wanted Lea Michele, Laura Benanti and Kelli O'Hara for Maria in WEST SIDE STORY, I think it's fine to want Merediz for Mae.

Someone wanted Kelli O'Hara as Maria??? Yikes.
While I am sure Olga can play white roles. Mae makes it known how much she dislikes Rosie for being Spanish. I don't know, it would just be weird to me.

I thought the NSMT production last summer was pretty spectacular. I loved the concept, casting, sets and direction.
Too bad Roundabout does not get Michael Lichtefeld to recreate it for ROUNDABOUT. It got great reviews and was a huge hit with the audience all 3 times I saw it.

Posted: 2/16/09 at 12:01amI saw the NSMT production and thought Bianca Marroquin was terrific as Rosie. Then I saw her as Roxie in Chicago on tour and she absolutely blew me away. Would love to see her play Rosie on Broadway.

Posted: 2/16/09 at 12:19amI guess she could, but for the time being I would rather she be unavailable for any lengthy Broadway engagement (i.e. anything other than a short, special engagement in the summer), as it would mean 30 Rock is gone, and that would be sad.
