I would love to see Jamie LaManna(sp) playing Rosie. I do not like Bianca.
I really don't want an older Albert. And definitely no Ziemba, who is too old..and well too white, lol. She was fine for a concert, but not a full scale revival.
Im really liking the idea of Andrea or Janine.

I've also heard that gina gershon was offered the role...
a full scare revival.
From your lips to God's ears.

- Why would they start casting this early?
Huh, I actually would like to see Gina Gershon in the part, she is a pretty good stage actress, I like her singing voice, and she has charisma and sexiness to spare. Bring her in.

Brody, I'd love to know where you got your definitive info on Bianca.
Another vote for Bianca. I saw her as Rosie this summer and she did an excellent job with the role.
Already got the name... and not a stranger to Roundabout

Wow, I read this title thinking Rosie O'Donell was cast in this rervival.
Don't underestimate Gershon, she really surprised me in Cabaret

Rosie Perez. She was a delight in THE RITZ.
Kathy Bates for Mae.
Am I the only one who doesn't know who's playing Albert? Isn't that the most important point here? What good is it to talk about who plays Rosie until we know who's playing Albert? It would make a lot of difference on the Rosie selection to know the type and the age of the Albert.

Hunter Foster or Roger Bart pretty please!

Eric (sigh!) McCormack
Eric would be a truly fantastic Albert.
And I really do like the idea of Perez.
Work it, Dolly. Work it.

Ziemba is 51 and can look 40.
Rosie should look 30.

Okay, I'll work it, but I'm still working hard to convince Mitzi Gaynor to play Dolly!
Andrea Burns should own this role.
With Hyde Pierce, yup.
One name and one star.
I saw her in the NSMT production last summer and she was enchanting!

"Why would they start casting this early?"
Depending on which slot they are putting this in, then if they want a star name they are most likely already talking to them to make sure schedules line up correctly.
In the opera world the top singers can be booked for a production two to three years in advance. And if you want a movie/TV star in your Broadway show, you need to start planning at least a good six months to a year in advance to make sure they don't decide to book a movie or television show for when you want them.
Ooo! Eric McCormack, yes! I love that idea :)
I know she's not a well-known New York name, but Natalie Nucci would be wonderful. She played the role out in California last year (James Royce Edwards was Conrad), and was a knockout! and she looks 30, and is a true triple threat.

Best casting would be (in my opinion):
Natascia Diaz as Rosie
Christian Borle as Albert
Whitney Bashor as Kim
Nathan Lane as Harry McAfee
Allison Janney as Doris McAfee
Tovah Feldshuh as Mae
Dream cast, I know, but would also be most effective in the roles.
