I believe they could all be contenders. Who do you want to see play the role?

UGLY BETTY is only being shelved for like a month, instead of showing re-runs, they are going to be showing new episodes. The show is NOT getting canceled.
Andrea Burns is my number one choice and oh my God, Natascia Diaz looks like Donna Murphy's lost Latina sister.

We did this show at my school a couple years ago! I was in the ensemble, but you know what they say, no small parts, only small actors!!LOL
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Eden Espinoza in this role. Don't hate! She's amazing! Check out how pretty she is:

Posted: 2/14/09 at 5:41pmI saw Bianca play Rosie this summer, and she was only a bit better than mediocre. Now, her Albert, James Patterson, was sublime, but I'm sure they'll want to cast a name for that part.

Exactly. ABC hasn't cancelled UGLY BETTY. They are taking a break in March and then returning in June. The show has also been renewed for next season -- the show's 4th season (per ABC).
Bianca Marroquin will be playing Rose in the upcoming Roundabout revival of BYE BYE BIRDIE.

At first glance, I thought this thread was about rumors that Rosie O'Donnell would be cast in the BIRDIE revival.

No to Eden Espinoza or Karen Ziemba (who played the role in the Encores! revival already).
Andrea Burns deserves a starring role on Broadway and I'd be the happiest to see her in the part.
I'm not sure it'd be justified at all for AEA purposes but Elena Roger would be great in the role.
If a non-Latina were to be cast, I propose the wonderful Megan Sikora.

Andrea Burns needs a frickin' lead already and would be amazing in that role.

I thought this was about Rosie O'Donnell getting the part of Mae in "Birdie."
She'd be great, if they don't cast an "older" Albert. I'm guessing they will. The trend on Broadway lately is that "50" is the new "25."
