That was such a wonderful article...I wish I could have gone to the last performance ;( but i am so thrilled i saw it!
It will be back...I know it. It is too cultish (I know thats not a word) not to be back.
Rocky bombed when it was first release....remember that...

Posted: 2/9/04 at 3:32pmShe also promised it would win the Tony for Best Musical. Wasn't it these kind of proclomations that got her in trouble in the first place?

sorry to say, lots of details in the story, as well as quotes, even seat # was wrong...nice account, but the show was even better than depicted. Oh and Rosie was in G 114 8 rows in fron of us. "Everybody register to vote so we can get rid of Bush and move ahead" was what we heard.
I wish I knew anyone who took photos- all of the swings were on, and lots of cut costumes appeared because of it.
Boy George was amazing last night. His speech during "Ich Bin Kunst" was very classy, and the best tidy ending and closure to the rocky end.
I do believe her when she says the show will be back. And I do think the show will win at least 2 Tonys.

Posted: 2/9/04 at 4:37pmI was there also for the second time. An experience I will never forget. Having seen over 60 shows, I can say that I have never seen a cast give it their all like they did last night. Simply incredible. I cant wait for the cd.

Daphne your post was quite a backhanded compliment to Michael Dale. Do we really CARE what seat Rosie sat in anyway? What details are WRONG besides the seat # AND president quote.
You said LOTS of details in the story, so I am just curious what exactly you meant.
Why do you "wish" people you knew took pictures. At the top of Michael's article is clearly states that pictures were taken and will be up. I have no doubt that other sites and press were there too taking pictures.
You noticed what seat Rosie was in, "LOTS" of errors in Michael's article, but you didn't notice camera flashes, and photographers around?
Interesting

Posted: 2/9/04 at 4:43pmI think she means that she wishes she knew specific people so she can get copies, though I could be wrong. It was VERY obvious that pictures were being taken, and not just by professionals.

Hey Jeff G,
I guess I can order pictures from you? The flashes were annoying, and the made an announcement to stop taking and MOST did. IF you had been there and I suppose you were, since you have an issue with my post - most of the flashes were during first act. only a handful in act 2. (Thats an interesing part -not depicted--are you happy?) I said it was a great account, but was filled with spelling names wrong, filled with misquotes, and obviously if he was going to put a seat # in then make it THE RIGHT ONE.
Thanks for your support, and hey--I'll take as many photos as you took. WINK.

I wasn't there Daphne. But I can read the top of a column. My issue with your post, if you want to call it even an issue is that you made it a point to say that there were lots of errors and yet you failed to name but two. Are two errors LOTS of errors?
I can also cut and paste as well as I can read the top of a column. Dale writes, " (Act I was lit so often by camera flashes that a loud cheer came up from the crowd after the intermission announcement that "the cast asks you refrain from taking flash pictures.")
Now you say the article is "filled" with misquotes and misspellings.
Enlighten us, rather than insult the author is my point I suppose. For those of us who weren't there...

Posted: 2/9/04 at 5:01pmp.s. Not having been there, I also appreciate the time and energy that went into Michael writing his thoughts on the final production. I haven't seen anything else in print about it anywhere except a few message board posts. Updated On: 2/9/04 at 05:01 PM

Posted: 2/9/04 at 5:02pmEuan Morton might be back on Broadway soon. I was at the stage door last night. When Euan came out, someone asked when he'll be returning to the UK. He replied: "I'm not going back. No." By the way, I didn't realize how short he was.

Euan and Carey will be back sooner than you know. Almost everyone has jobs lined up after the closing..except Sarah--who has a baby, and Euan who also has a new "baby" as well.
