According to a press release published on the website of the British newspaper The Sun, Emma Bunton could participate in a new musical show that prepares television network British Sky One. The show in question would have the title "Hairspray: The School Musical", an English school will have the opportunity to recreate the classic musical Hairspray with the atmosphere in the sixties. It is not known if Emma will participate in one or more episodes.

I guess it's not as horrible because it's at least not casting someone in a lead role for the West End version, but it's still pretty depressing.

Some people need to get off their high horses. This sounds rather fun (British Reality shows often have a rather endearing cheeky element to them - not to mention copious amounts of foul language). Plus it is only High School. It sounds like it will be very amusing more then anything else.

Heck, this sounds like a good idea for a Mockumentary (if it hasn't already been done).
