How many tickets go to rush/lotto for shows? I remember in the days of RENT is was the first 2 rows, and other shows have had like 10/20/40... Do shows fill more seats if they have them?

Every show does it differently, like Hamilton allocates the first two rows for lottery, some shows will do box seats or extreme sides for rush, some shows will have some seats in the house that happen to be left, etc.
In some cases, I suspect show are changing the lottery allocation when stars are out. For example I found it much easier to win the lottery to shows like Funny Girl, Sweeney Todd, and Cabaret on days the big star was out.
While it does vary from show to show, I've usually found it easier to win lotteries/get digital rush tickets through shows on Telecharge than TodayTix. I've long wondered if TodayTix is more likely to have a fixed small amount of lottery/rush tickets to popular shows, as opposed to it fluctuating on based on day to day sales.

Often, if a theater has extra seats they want to fill, they will increase the number of raffle/lotto seats or open more seats a few minutes before the curtain. I also came across a resource about promotions and bonuses https://casinosanalyzer.com/no-deposit-bonuses if you are interested in playing. There are many games there, there is a lot to choose from.
Yeah, I’ve noticed the same pattern! Especially with Telecharge lotteries, it feels like the odds improve when main stars are out or sales dip!
It’s all random. They just do it on an ass needed basis now. The performances that need more help give out more lottery seats. If it’s sold out, no chance.

That makes sense. If the show's not selling well and has a lot of empty seats, they will probably offer more cause they need more asses.

How so? Lucky Seat lists all of the formerly Jujamcyn and now ATG theatres around the country. Just like Broadway Direct lists the Nederlander theatres and Telecharge Lottery/Rush page lists all of the Shubert houses.
What clues are you seeing?
