Hello Broadway Board. Mum and I making a trip from the UK again to catch the best of Broadway! We are there Tuesday Afternoon through Monday Morning.

We are hoping to do the general rush for Anything Goes, How to Succeed, Spiderman and I'll be doing the student rush for Wonderland and Memphis. Just wondering if 8am would be early enough to get tickets to these shows? Don't know if next week is a holiday week in NYC or if there is anything to look out for... Also, which of the shows are likely to have student tickets left after the initial 10am rush, because we won't be in the city until around 2pm on the first day.

And a question about Book of Mormon. I've read of people lining up for standing room whilst they are taking the names for lotto. I'm desperate to see it, so if we got there half an hour before they started taking lotto names to join the standing queue, do you think we would get them alright? Where do you wait for the standing tickets?

Also planning on doing the Bengal Tiger lottery and seeing Catch me if you can. I know Catch Me has no rush policy so whats the best deal about?

Much appreciated!!! Sorry for rambling as usual, want to make this a really good trip!

A lot of these depend on the days when you'll be rushing. How to Succeed and Spiderman are popular rushes, so I would save those for a week day rather than the weekend. I pass by the Spiderman rush line every morning on my way to work around 9:30 and it's usually stretching down the block. No idea how many get tickets, but I would say get there early. And I've done How to Succeed arriving at 8 am on a Saturday morning (when there were two shows that day). I was about 15 people back but got tickets for the evening's performance. 8 should be fine, but you never know. (I have a friend who just texted from the How to Succeed line at 8:15 on a Friday morning and she said the line is short).

I would try Anything Goes or Wonderland for rush after the box office opens. If Anything Goes is out of general rush tickets, they still have a student rush for half-price seats half an hour to curtain. It's worth a try, maybe if Book of Mormon standing rom doesn't work out. I have no evidence, but I doubt it'd be hard to snag a Wonderland ticket late in the day.

Here's a link to the best Catch Me If You Can discount I know of: http://www.broadwaybox.com/shows/catch_me_if_you_can_nyc_tickets.aspx

Hope this helps a little! Enjoy your trip and all your shows!

I'm not even sure HOW TO SUCCEED has rush every day - isn't it pending availability? The show is rolling into a strong word of mouth hit - and will be a tough ticket during spring break season -- you might spring for advance discount code seats if you really want to see it.

How to Succeed seems to always do rush. Someone on the other thread said they went last Saturday and got their just before 8 and was about 50th in line.

I got How to Succeed rush tickets at 2pm last Friday with no problem, but I think it differs every day.

The standing room only line at Mormon has been starting at about 5pm every day, though who knows how that will change with the show being open and all of the great reviews.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the tips! Very much appreciated

I see Mormon is starting at 7pm next week most nights, going to try and go as early as I can in the week to give myself plenty of chances. I really don't mind standing it's more of a case if I can actually get them!

Also, the only show on a Sunday night I'd really be interested in seeing is American Idiot. I saw it last year, do they still do the lotto loser seats after the lottery just in case?

I can't say for certain if American Idiot is still doing lotto loser but it should be relatively easy to get a rush or discount ticket to that until Billy Joe Armstrong returns - at the very least you can get a ticket at the TKTS booth.

Wonderland really has either no or negative buzz and is still in previews so this should also be pretty easy to get a rush ticket. You might even be able to get one pretty late in the day considering what the word of mouth has been on this.

How to Succeed and Book of Mormon are going to be the tough ones. I saw the standing room only line wrap around the corner a few weeks ago and that was BEFORE they opened to almost all raves. My advice is try a weekday and go EARLY.

I saw How to Succeed on a Tuesday fairly early in previews and I was about 20th in line and had no problem getting tickets. The line was fairly long and it seemed that a lot of people behind me got tickets as well. I got there at about 9 am but I really think it depends on the day over there.

I got to Book of Mormon at 4 yesterday and was number 11, so I would advice getting there earlier than 3 hours before just to be sure. I know sometimes they've only had 12 tickets available.

Is the standing tickets one per person for Book of Mormon?? Or can you get two? Thanks for the heads up. I've ruled out winning lotto just due to the number of people entering but don't mind waiting a few hours in line for the standing tickets. If it is two per person though I'd rather just tell my mum to head off shopping and make the most of her time.

In addition to above question does anyone know if Bengal Tiger does any sort of Lotto Loser discount?

Hey Mark--

I went to see Bengal Tiger on a Wednesday and there weren't even enough people for the lotto so they sold the front row seats for $27; during a weekday that's a good bet. High with Kathleen Turner is doing a rush for kids from 17-21, 2 tix per, front row and it's a really low stage; people on this board are saying it's a shocking play but really good.

I rushed How to Succeed on a Saturday and I agree that you have an edge because it's a two-show day, just like a Wednesday would be. Really a fun show!

Catch Me won't do rush but is usually on TKTS, I think.

Wonderland is a complete train wreck of a show according to everybody here who's seen it.

And Book of Mormon is unbelievably good, just like everyone is saying Rush/Lotto help for next week!!

Good luck and enjoy!

When I did standing room for Book of Mormon for the last preview Wednesday night, I got there around 5 and was 6th in line. Apparently it's gotten harder to get, but you can be in line for standing room and put your name in the lottery (as long as you have someone hold your spot). And the show is certainly well worth seeing. Standing room affords a great view. And, if you are close enough up in line, request to be near 108/109, which is where I was and is dead center. They tried to put me all the way on the side but I asked for a more central seat.

As for Anything Goes, if you're willing to splurge a little, the student rush is half-price whatever's left 3 hrs. prior to the show. The general rush had a line going when I walked by it before 10 on Wednesday, and those seats are in the back of the orchestra and mezz anyway. For only about $62-$64 you get best available. I walked up at 5:00 Thursday for the 8:00 performance and got first row. You can get 2 tickets, I believe, and your location will be primo. It's also a really enjoyable show.

Catch Me still doesn't have rush (I checked yesterday again), but it has been on TKTS and is very worth it as well.

I really can't thank you guys enough! It's all good reading rush policies on line but to actually hear it from the folks that do it really gives some good insight.

Thank You, here's to a great week!
