I really haven't seen much lately (haven't had the money) but I do have the soundtracks (which I've taken from rich friends who don't really want them)...but the last show I saw that I really really liked was Avenue Q, but I'm somehow getting tickets to A Chorus Line's revival.

This is why I hibernate on livejournal... people hate me the second they talk to me.

I think that NOT seeing something because of a certain actor is stupider than seeing a show for someone. Why judge the whole thing because of one person?

I agree.

There's nothing wrong with seeing somehting for a certain actor...

But there is tons wrong with not seeing something because of an actor.

I completely agree, shiksa goddess. I think it'd even MORE stupid to say that it's stupid to listen to something just because one likes a particular actress while at the same time claiming that one would not see a show because of some "hate" held for ONE actress in the show. It's very contradictory.

Not to mention, some on this very site walked into See What I Wanna See hating Idina Menzel and walked out appreciating her work, and even raving about it. JUST a thought...

i LOVED swiws...not soley for Idina...but I loved the actual show itself. Great piece of work. Lachiusa is a genious.

I'll start this by saying that See What I Wanna See is one of my all-time favorite musicals. It is just brilliant. Everything fits together so perfectly... it's indescribable. And although LaChiusa intrigued me, I originally went to see the show because of Idina. I saw DRS because of Sherie and Norbert, Little Women because of Sutton, and Chicago because of Paige Davis. Part of the marketing of Broadway is the people that are in the shows. But I also love the shows and listen to the cast recordings and listen to everything. I respect seeing a show or getting an OCR because of a certain person, but to ONLY listen to that person is ridiculous. The show is amazing. PLEASE listen to it all. I'm not exactly sure what my point was, but I hope I made it.
