Elphaba43,
Do you actually know what SWIWS is, who wrote it, who else but Idina performed in it and where it played?

Yes, obviously I'm new *points to rank* but that's still hilarious...
Oh! I'm in for betting on this one. I betcha 2 Idina bootleg posts that she doesn't know.
If she does, she google'd it.

I don't wanna break up this little shindigger.
BUT...
How many of you went to see SWIWS because of Idina? I know there are more than a few of you right in this thread.
I think it's great. But, just keep that in mind when you start with someone about wanting the Idina tracks from SWIWS.
So what if she doesn't care about LaChiusa or the show itself. At least she's listening to the music and hearing something other than generic Broadway pop and rock.

Having seen Audra in this show (when was called "R shamon") and seeing Idina,I can really say Audra was superior in the role.

Posted: 5/9/06 at 5:19pmI will admit I am a fan of Idina, and in no way in this thread did I deny it. But Elphaba43 has made many annoying threads so it would only take some time until someone would blow up at her.

I didn't even see See What I Wanna See, because I hate Idina... sort of the same reasoning? But then my friend convinced me to listen to the soundtrack, and I love it now... 'cept for the whole Idina part...
I used to think it was a good thing when I saw that people were looking away from American Idol for a millisecond and seeing Phantom, but I was wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. All I got (for a few months) were freaky fangirls singing Think of Me. That was fun.

Posted: 5/9/06 at 5:47pmI think there's nothing wrong with being a fan of Idina, but only listening to the songs with Idina in them and not giving the others a try is just... ignorant. I personally love the entire score.

To answer your question off the top of my head: Kesa, See What I Wanna See, The Park (?...there might be some dialogue, my memory is fading), The Wife's Statement, Louie, No More, Light in the East, Morito (big maybe...well I saw it during previews, I don't think it's on the recording... so actually scratch this...) Confession/Last Year (Group number...she should be in it...I honestly don't know, and I'd have to give it a listen.) Second Message, Coffee, Glory Day, Feed the Lions... Prayer, Rising Up...
Idina is on quite bit of the recording, but some of the best songs on the recording don't necessarily feature her.
[edit] I just gave Morito a listen...no Idina. But it's Mr. Kudisch and Japanese woodwind instruments, damn it!

Posted: 5/9/06 at 5:48pmThe music would still be amazing, well I personally think it would be better, without her... I think just listening to her songs becase it's her, is just... stupid.

I don't think it's stupid - I go to see LOTS of shows just because a certain actor or actress is in it. Actually, sometimes the only thing that will get me IN to a show that I'm sure isn't my cup of tea is a certain actor or actress. Same with cast recordings, I've often bought them just to hear a certain person and ended up enjoying the entire thing. I don't think that's uncommon or stupid.
That being said, I'm not defending the OP because...I think I've already rubbed them the wrong way in the "Idina Music Video" thread they started.

You're nice, I'm not
I saw DRS because of Norbert, but I didn't like it at all. I haven't really loved a musical for years.... I guess I'm just extraordinarily jaded.

Yes. My question is, why does everyone take that against me? I know a lot of Rentheads are annoying, but I really hope I'm not...
(don't answer that)

Posted: 5/9/06 at 6:06pmUsually the only reason I'd buy a Cast Recording of a musical I don't plan to see (in the near future) is because of a certain actor/actress. And most of the time I end up loving the entire thing. It's not a bad thing to buy a recording because of a certain person, but I believe it's bad to listen to only the songs that person is in.

Ancient Chinese Proverb
If a renthead wears blue vinyl pants in the woods and breaks into a chorus of "Out Tonight"
And no one is around to see it...
Are they still, obsessively self important zealots?
Hehe, I like rent too...
