These are hilarious! Too bad the show itself doesn't seem to be as funny. My favourite is Donkey-Xote. But I really, really love Fiona and Farquard's costumes. (Not so wild on Donkey's...)

They should have made one that said, "SUBWAYS ARE FOR SHREKING."

Or not...

A Wicked one really would have been funny, because of the whole green thing.

Schmerg, if you haven't seen it, you can't really say. There are absolutely hysterical moments in the show as well as a very touching and good message.

Jordangirl-- Well, I did say doesn't SEEM as funny, just based on what I've heard from other people. I don't want to get my hopes up too, too much, because I really liked the movie (not so fond of the sequels), and I don't want to be disappointed. I'm glad to hear that you liked it, though! That's heartening!

Schmerg ~ Ok. I never saw any of the movies, so I can't compare them, but... I find the musical utterly charming ~ funny when it should be, tender when it should be. It's not perfect, but it's found a place in my heart. :)

Ahahaaaha, that's great! For some reason, I didn't even notice that the face was different the first time I saw it.

I love the Duloc one and the A Chorus Line one! Great ads. They should make a Wicked one for Lord Farquuad (sp?) because he has the Wicked line in the show, which by the way was one of my favorite parts of the show.

Yay! Much much better! SpotCo got it right with these ads...a huge improvement over Seattle and the early Broadway look.

How do you make an "ugly" ad appealing? Make it funny.

re: SHREK Subway Ads (Clever!) - NY Times Slideshow

You know, maybe it's because I haven't seen the movies...

But from what I understand they took more of the concept from the book and that being the case, it shouldn't be rolling in the aisles funny for the ENTIRE show.

I found it to be a nice blend.

"I love these ads but I STILL think Sutton looks horrendous in her Fiona costumes. It just doesn't fit her, for me"

In some pictures it makes her looks a little over weight but she really is not, she is the farthest from that. Also in person she looks much better.

re: SHREK Subway Ads (Clever!) - NY Times Slideshow

I beg to differ, I've seen her in person in the outfit from the third row and it still just doesn't fit her (not literally). She's too good for that costume.

Theres a HELLO DOLLY! one too.

It's Donkey walking down a flight of stairs with the Duloc people on the sides of the steps and it says HELLO DONKEY, WELL HELLO DONKEY!
