SLAVA'S SNOWSHOW streaming next week on BroadwayHD

I saw this Off-Broadway when I was very young and I remember being scared to death, especially during the final blizzard. I didn't catch any of the Broadway incarnations.

Thoughts on this headed to streaming? I think Snowshow is meant to be a visceral, in-person experience (a la Fuerza Bruta or Sleep No More) and it probably won't translate well outside the theatre. Let's see if that's true when it starts streaming next week.

I saw the show way back before it hit New York in Denver at the, then, Auditorium Theater (Now the Ellie). It appears the show has changed some since then,based on the clips from it's more recent run in NYC. The production I saw I don't think would transfer well. It appears that the physical production has been updated so maybe it will play better on film. But nothing will replace being in the theater for the snow storm, throwing the "snow" and tossing the big snow balls around the theater. We had paper snow falling from us for about 4 hours after the show. We really enjoyed it. It was very slow and quiet but kept our interest. It is a beautiful show. Just my random thoughts.

An odd show for streaming since (if memory serves) it’s one of those “you have to be there to experience it” kind of shows. Watching a filmed production of it seems kind of like someone describing eating food. If that makes sense.
