Oh goodness no, I don't schmooze the drum turning person...
I scope out the crowd, survey who I think may win (large families with children are always good, somehow the kids win a lot) and strike deals such as "if we both win and have an extra pair we'll give them to you, will you do the same for us?" Beleive it or not that got me in twice! Well, once really cause my name was called too, but it would've worked the second time as well!

Kendra's flashed the crowd during "Popular" every time I've seen her. Yeah, that's pretty much all I have to add. :)

I'm gonna try for tomorrow's show. It's my last chance to see it before it leaves LA. So I'm hoping I win... and I'm hoping I see Stephanie perform. :)
I've seen Stephanie/Kendra once. Stephanie/Emily once. Kristy/Kendra once. Jenna/Kendra once. I love Stephanie and Kendra together - but I haven't seen Katie yet. But I have to admit, I just LOVE Kendra's Glinda. She is just too funny words - even after I've seen the show 4 times.

I've only seen Wicked twice at the Pantages. The first time was with Stephanie/Katie, and the second time with Jenna/Katie. I wish I could have seen Kendra to compare, but Katie Adams was absolutely fantastic both times I saw her. She was so funny and spunky.
Aargh, the tour will only be here for one more week! Why didn't they schedule a longer stay here in LA!?

Cates does have an amazing voice, I don't think any of the recordings out there really do her justice, most of them are from the first time she ever did Elphaba on stage.
If you really want to help the American theater, don't be an actress, dahling. Be an audience.....
Don't be taken in by the guff that critics are killing the theater. Commonly they sin on the side of enthusiasm. Too often they give their blessing to trash...

Just for clarification, I was hoping someone could confirm this for me:
For Friday night's 8:00 show, the lottery would be at 5:30 or 6:00?
For Satuday's 2:00 pm show, the lottery would be at 11:30? 8:00 pm show would be at 5:30?
Also, if my wife won the lottery for an evening show, is there any chance she could make it to the valley and back to pick me up.

I'm seeing Wicked for the 1st time in LA this Friday evening. I really hope I get to see the leads and not the understudies. Also, I hope all the equipment works right. We paid a lot of money...

How far into the Valley are you? I've done the home and back thing after a lotto win, but to the Universal/North Hollywood areas, don't know with traffic and all (esp if it's a Friday night win) how much furthur out and back you could get, but should not be a prob.

I am in the Lake Balboa/Encino area. Hopefully, it works. I am tempted to have my wife try it tomorrow (Thursday) night. That would be great.
If not, I'll try on Saturday for both shows and on Sunday though I fully expect that to be INSANE.
Do all the fans on the board have tickets for any of the weekend shows? What will you do with them if you win the lottery?

Encino, eh? Ouch, that's a bit far in traffic. If you both have cell phones and cars can't she just call you to let you know she won and you can just be at the ready to leave and just meet her there? That would be my recommendation.

I'm gonna guess that you share one car or something (?), which was why she'd have to pick up... Encino is kind far to do there and back, though- maybe it might be faster if it's near you to do say the rapid bus on Ventura to the Red Line, the Red Line drops you off right across the street from the Pantages.
I was going to say that if she won your wife would be calling by like 6:05 at the latest, the lotto goes that quick, but I was there yesterday and the end of the line had not reached the sign in table by 6pm, so the lotto started after everyone in line by 6pm had the chance to sign in. Just something to keep in mind.

Anakela, what time did they actually start calling out names if people were still in line at 6:00. Every time I've been there there was no longer a line by about 10 minutes to name drawing....Thanks.

I actually didn't notice the time when they started, but they ended at roughly 6:25 so I'd say 15 min late at the most. Not too late, but enough so that they had to make an announcement that they were not starting right at 6pm.
At 6pm the line wasn't all the way down Hollywood Blvd still, but the queue in the Pantages area still had people waiting.
