Thinking of playing this today...anyone ever played? Might skip it if it's usually crowded since it's so close to showtime and I'd like to see something else if I don't win.
It's usually not crowded. We did it last Sunday. My friend did win. Usually there are more tickets than people. But because of the excellent reviews, it may be more crowded. Best of luck! Great show!

Lottery slips are given out 45 minutes before show time, and the drawing is a half hour before the show. Go upstairs to the second floor to get the slip. The drawing itself is usually held on the sidewalk outside the theater.

Has anyone been to the live lottery in the past couple weeks?

I went for the Sunday evening performance Thanksgiving weekend (11/27). There were only two of us that showed for lottery so once everyone else was already inside and seated, maybe 10 minutes before start time, the ticket guy in the lobby gave us both tickets to sit upstairs so didn't have to draw names on sidewalk or anything. It sounded like they were reconsidering whether to have lottery because it hasn't been popular lately so call ahead to make sure they are still having it for the performance.
So in case anyone else was still wondering about this, they are NOT doing the lottery anymore. I showed up tonight and the guy said they cancelled the lottery because no one was attending and are instead selling the last row balcony for $25.

Dang it! Appreciate the update. I was going to do it next week, since my friend's in town. Not going to bother checking it out then.

Thanks for the update! Do you know if they're selling the last row day of (like a rush) or in advance? I don't see an option to buy a ticket online.
It's not listed on the main ticket page but if you click on a specific date you'll see the option "LastRowBalc $25." Even though that says $69, if you select it it automatically shows a $44 discount.
I don't know if that ticket also requires a two-drink minimum as well.
