Why stop with SA?
Alone in his room, Steve was quietly sobbing into his pillow. Why didnt they understand? How could he make them see?
Suddenly, the door opened. "Steve? You okay?"
"Oh Harold!" Steve flew across the room into the waiting arms. "How could they do this to me? I worked so hard on that score, and now it's... it's... ARGH! I could take that Doyle person and..."
Harold gently patted him as they held their embrace. "It's all right. Let it out. That's it, just let it out."
"You were the ONLY ONE who understood me work! I owe you so much!!!"
Harold slowly closed the door. "Well, now that you mention it..."

I love that people think fan fiction about "real" people is creepier than fan fiction in general.
Both are bizarre cases of overinvestment, and if you believe that someone's fictional writing is "creepy," then you just might be a tad overinvested as well.

Posted: 4/27/07 at 1:53pmHa. In my normal way of reading things, I read the second paragraph first, and I thought it was saying God was in love with Lea Michele. Now THAT would be a story. The immaculate conception happening among a group of actors in a musical about sexual confusion.

Is this for real? This is highly creepy.
These people are real. You do not KNOW these people.
I mean really...

I find fan fiction hilarious and crazy. Instead of making yourself look a little loco, why not just make it a Sims story line?
That hair, the beautiful raven hair that fell graciously to her shoulders, that skin, so perfect and fragile, those lips, so beckoning and tantalizing, those eyes, the deep brown orbs that stared so deeply into him as if she could see his soul.
Restraining order, anyone?

I love how this insinuates that the only healthy response to fan fiction is complete and total indifference, yet the sentiment is still overinvested enough to be judgemental.

I love fan fiction. Catherine & Gil Grissom from the TV show CSI is my OTP
I read and write fan fic for them.
I've read and written some LES MIZ fics when I was younger as well. And Michael Bennett (the member on here) knows about my CHORUS LINE fic I drew/wrote as a kid.
But this was a bit... strange... HMMMMM. It's a great form of creativly expressing love for a show/a couple/character. But in this case, it's a bit... odd.

Awwww, I think it's cute. If slightly creepy. Plain old RPF is weird, but at least celebrities are distant enough that those people are writing more about a persona than a person... but writing fanfiction about someone you've probably met and chatted with at the stage door? Creepy.
And yeah, um, EponineAmneris and C is for Company, thanks for reminding me I'm not crazy. I didn't want to be the first to say something, but this thread reminds me of a bunch of people who probably got swirlies in middle school relishing the chance to do likewise to people lower down on the nerd pecking order. Jesus Christ, it's a hobby, maybe a subculture if you stretch it. Would it be more socially acceptable to y'all if all us pathetic, overinvested fanfiction authors took up crochet or went to Anti-Flag concerts instead?

I agree, making fan fics about real people is going a bit too far. Esp. with people you don't know. If this was written by a cast member as a joke, fine, but otherwise...ick. I hope neither of them read this.

Posted: 4/28/07 at 7:03pmWell, at least it's not the musicals slash community I ran across on LiveJournal. Ann Miller and Ginger Rogers. I think that's all I need to say to convey the what-the-f**kery of it all.

People are weird. There's a huge faction of people who photo edit pictures of Daniel Radcliffe and the kid who plays Malfoy together and write epic stories about them. Mostly girls, usually...
Although I guess guys do entertain fantasies of lesbionic action between hot girls too.
I think the whole thing is worth it for the line about the third world country. If we had more Leah Michelles in this world, we'd be in better shape!
