I am extremely curious about the actors in SA and their eligibility to win Tony's. I can definitely see Sandra Mae Frank being nominated? What do you guys think?

Sandra Mae Frank and Austin McKenzie are both eligible for Best Leading Actress and Best Leading Actor in a musical respectively, according to the Tony nomination committee.
The American Theatre Wing will probably acknowledge the cast of Spring Awakening just like they did with Big River in 2004 by giving them special Tony Awards.

I would love to see Daniel Durant nominated. He was terrific as Moritz. Tough featured actor category though.
I really don't see any of the actors getting nominated, especially with it's closing months before. Arden could get a Director nom and the show itself could get a revival nom
^And possibly Spencer Liff for Choreography.
I sure hope the Tony committee remembers the show come April/May when the nominations come out. Assuming SHUFFLE ALONG is named a revival, the 4 Best revival of a musical should be:
Spring Awakening
The Color Purple
Fiddler on the Roof
Shuffle Along
If Spencer Liff is nominated I think he would have the best chances at winning.

i thought it was normally three revivals?
Don't forget about She Loves Me. If that receives good reviews, that could snag that last spot since it will still be running.
If Shuffle Along isn't considered a revival, then there would only be three nominees, not four.

If at least six shows are eligible, four slots are filled for nominations. If five shows or less are eligible, three slots are filled.
This season, we have 5 official revivals on Broadway:
The Color Purple
Dames at Sea
Fiddler on the Roof
She Loves Me
Spring Awakening
Once Shuffle Along opens, we will soon hear if the committee will end up deeming it as a new work or a revival.
This production is so gonna get Side Show'd in terms of competitive Tonys.
First it was Jeremy Jordan'd now it's side show'd?
is Side Show'd good or bad?

Bad. The revival of Side Show last year got great reviews, but closed in January. By tony time, even though there were four open slots, the nominators decided to only nominate On The Town, On The Twentieth Century, and The King And I.
If Shuffle Along is considered a revival, I think Spring Awakening's chances are sort of shattered.

I thought that as well initially when the nominations were announced, but there actually wasn't four open slots. The rule is:
"Where there are five or fewer eligible shows in a Best Show category, at the Tony Nominating Meeting, the Nominating Committee will be instructed to cast one vote each for three eligible shows as nominees on his/her secret ballot. Such ballot shall be collected and tabulated by a representative of the Accounting Firm. The three eligible shows with the highest number of votes will automatically be designated as the nominees in such category. A fourth nominee shall be added to the category in the event that the Accounting Firm determines that the difference in votes between the third highest-ranked show and the fourth highest-ranked show is three votes or less."

Whether it ends up being considered a revival or not, we should also see if Shuffle Along even lives up to expectations. I don't know if it will, but we have seen several shows in the past that had a lot of anticipation, but failed to live up to their expectations.

I'd love to see Krysta Rodriguez be nominated!
I thought she stole the whole entire show. She did so much with her character for such a small time the character was onstage.

Back in the 2003/2004 season, Michael McElroy was nominated as a featured actor, as well as "Big River" getting a nod for Best Revival. So I'm hoping and praying that Krysta gets a nomination, because boy does she deserve it. I've praised her so many times on this site before, but GOODNESS does she make Ilse so much more of a character. Although it was the original, Ilse was misdirected as a character, and Lauren Pritchard did the best she could with her. Krysta and Michael Arden really fleshed her out, and they both deserve nominations.
Also, for future notice, because I'm sure somebody will ask, if "Spring Awakening" gets the Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, this does not mean the cast are Tony Winners, if that makes sense. It's as if it was getting a win for Best Revival, not the same as how the Matilda girls got recognized for their work. That sounded snobby, but I'm sure it was bound to have come up!
