what experience can you share with us about stage door security or Doorman?
In what way? Usually they are they just to make sure you don't crash through the barriers or totally block the sidewalk.
Or hold down the fort in the office and yell at you to come in when you ring the doorbell.
And how many times are you going to post the same message? This is the THIRD post that says the SAME EXACT THING. All withing FIVE minutes!
they are mama's boys/girls who let out their passive aggressiveness on tourists

OKay'some are scary looking and never smile and others are very friendly like I went to see chicago when usher was the lawyer and waited by the stage door area with five of my friends for some pics and asked when is he coming out" and they looked and me like I stole something and ignored me but when I visited mamma mia and waited at the stage door we met this very friendly doorman answered our questions smiled and even gave my kids and I a backstage tour.

I'm sorry' I'm new with this forum and at first it looked li,ke it wasn't posting or accepting so I kept hitting the post botton
Don't worry about it - everyone has that problem now and then.
As others have said, some are incredibly nice and accommodating and others are Hitler, Jr. Most are guided by the show. Really popular shows with headliner stars will require (and get) more security than others.
The stage door security people usually aren't so bad. But don't get me started on some of the Broadway ushers who behave as if they could've trained the Gestapo...

The only horror story I have with anyone working at the stage door was when I was at Little Mermaid in January. Long story short last time I saw the show prior to that was a good 4-5 months ago. Went to get autographs, the guy there for some strange reason recognized me from that long ago and yelled at me and gave me strange looks because he was convinced that I was going to sell my autographed playbill on Ebay.

You are not the first person that has happened to!
My friend has dealt with that same stage door man and he was down right rude to her when we went to see Mermaid not too long ago. He came up and was saying things like "I don't trust you.." and attacking her. It was ridiculous.
On the other side of the spectrum: The stage door man at Shrek is one of the nicest, funniest men ever. He's fabulous! Also, The Palace stage door man was always very nice.
