Man. If that's the best clip they could post to sell the show, they are in big trouble!
I really think these out-of-context video previews do more harm than good.

Posted: 7/23/09 at 8:35pmCapnHook, the difference between this show and other "bad-fun" show is energy. I hated Mamma Mia, but I remember thinking that the whole cast had so much energy if they crashed into a wall, they'd run right through it. Bad-fun shows have to compensate for their poor material by having a cast that looks like they want to be there. First Wives Club is only in out-of-town tryouts and the whole cast already looks bored and embarrassed to be in the show.

And I'm a total bitch for saying so, but it really does warm my heart to see almost universal scorn for this mess.
Now watch it come to NYC and be a huge hit. Or not.
I wish I could see it now, because I'm beginning to think that maybe there will be an element of "so bad it's good to it," but I really wish Sheryl Lee Ralph will get out now. She's the only rat I care about on this sinking ship.

Ok, how does this work? If this show already has producers backing it for Broadway, why is it playing in San Diego?
If this is a pre-Broadway tryout and fails in Cali, will it still go forward to Broadway? It really looks bad.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm getting my Karens, Kates, and Mary Louise's mixed up lately.
Is it me or does Barbara Walsh seem... a little lackluster? For instance, in that white suit-pic, Karen and Sheryl look like they're really INTO IT and Barbara is just wafting. In the video, she seems less into it too. Maybe I'm nitpicking though.
