They do seem really bored, it's weird. The songs also just didn't come across as very good for the stage, IMO.
Barbara Walsh's expression says it all!
That first song is so boring. And it all just looks sloppy and uncreative. Francesca Zambello just needs to go away. Now.

I thought the first song wasn't...too awful. But what was that staging? Were they just running around the table? And that second song made me want to scream at someone. Probably Zambello.
Also, I just watched it again (and it was just even worse) and I realized the dance move Ziemba was doing that I couldn't place. The CHARLIE BROWN. You know, from the Cha Cha Slide you did in 7th grade. Any Broadway-bound musical that features the charlie brown in its choreography is in deeper trouble than they apparently realize...

Zambello's directing reminds me of Phyllidia Llyod (SP?) directing in the French & Saunders parody of Mamma Mia.
Please tell me that was improv at its worst.... couldn't possibly have been choreographed that way. And, I have always enjoyed Karen Ziemba. Help!
I couldn't get through it. It wasn't even bad enough for me to want to rip it to shreds. It was just pathetic.
This looks atrocious. It's hard to stomach one of my favorite movies being turned into a ****show.
Why didn't they hire Marc Shaiman??????????????????????
I think... that was the worst thing I've ever seen.
THIS is what people who don't like musicals point to, boiled down to a pure id.
///// F////// MONKEY /////, that was terrible.
Oh GOD that looks horrendous and the music.......*barf*
Francesca Zambello is a HOT mess. She literally did one of the worst directorial jobs I've ever seen on a stage with her work in MERMAID. And something tells me her work on FWC won't be far behind.
Jesus.
Well, this is what happens when you hire Francesca Zambello to direct a musical. Good lord, that was bad.
"outrageous contagious." What clever lyrics.
Does running around in circles pass for choreography these days?
And, is there a law somewhere that says that whenever you cast a black woman in a musical now, she must be SASSY????? And sing GOSPEL??????
There's no way this opens in NY, which is a shame because it looks like one of those delightful train wrecks that are fun to watch because they're so horrendous. This makes 9 to 5 look like Gypsy.

I can't remember even one word of one song.
That was absolutely horrendous...wow.
I'm so glad that Carolee Carmello made the right choice!

We don't know that YET wat. Addams could be a bigger trainwreck than this. Is there a demo for it anywhere?
I can't take Barbara Walsh seriously in this...at all.
and Karen, oy!
i doubt this will make it to ny

Gosh. Who put that video together and meant it for publicity?!
Francess Z really has put no effort into this at all.
The whole show, which I think could still work, it great materical, needs tightening up no end and Barbara Walsh (shame, love her in Company) needs to go - Megan Mulluly, come on down, please!

Who is the choreographer for this hot mess? I can't seem to find it listed anywhere. Tyce Diorio perhaps?
I have never been a fan of the mediocre Barbara Walsh or Karen Ziemba. This video just confirms that even more. What dreck. May this show never see the light of day on Broadway.
Francesca Z. thy middle name is Trainwreck. She should be banned from theatrical productions forever.

That first song was literally three words repeated over and over. Inspired.

Me too! I love Sheryl Lee Ralph, though. She deserves better.
From this video, and the rehearsal video, it seems like all of the songs sound the same, and none of them fit into this show well. I know I haven't seen it yet, but I am sure NOT excited to with videos like these. Good thing I live near Chicago, so the out of town try out I am seeing is Addams Family!
Oh dear. Doesn't even look mediocre...
Sheryl Lee Ralph is working her ass off, again...love her. I've never "gotten" Karen Ziemba. I find her charm-free. Barbara Walsh hasnt impressed me since Falsettos.
I do have to say that Zambello's work has been highly regarded before Mermaid, including the bway bound "Rebecca".
This clearly stinks (the lyrics...OY!)
