STOP SHOUTING AT ME!

Seriously, this is the worst use of photographic imagery for marketing since the poster for Desire Under the Elms.

Do you hear the people scream?

Totally agree. But that's what producers think audiences want. We had to go through open-mouths and hands raised in victory for Dr. Zhivago and the same nonsense in the Tony presenatation of Finding Neverland.

This has been the look and feel of their semi-rebranding on both sides of the Pond. It's a bit much.

There's a WHOLE lot more screaming in POTO than in Les Miz. Maybe the mask logo needs to have its mouth opened so it looks more like "The Scream." STOP SHOUTING AT ME!

Audrey, the Phantom Phanatic, who nonetheless would rather be Jean Valjean, who knew how to make lemonade out of lemons.

When I was a kid, I used to think that The Phantom of the Opera was about some guy in a Scream mask running around terrorizing an opera-singing choir. No joke.

Funnily enough, that's an apt description of the college production of Phantom that I just saw.

FYI - I wasn't talking about performances. Just the artwork for that ad.

Kyle Scatliffe hasn't been Enjolras since March, so that's a really weird ad if it's new.

Everything about this whole new re-branding/ad campaign is downright ugly.

And how is it they always happen to be standing in front of the sun? The Eponine photo really makes no sense. That pose doesn't relate to the character or the show in any way whatsoever. She looks like she's really bored of playing craps...while standing in front of the sun.

..or she's emitting some magical light from her hands that will save France from revolution!

Actually, do you remember their Tony Awards performance? This artwork seems like an accurate representation of the overbaked nonsense they're performing on stage.
