"Somewhere that's Green" (Reprise) From Little Shop...right before Audrey...well, you know...
Also, "Tell Her I Love Her" from Urinetown. That song bummed me out for the next two days. Even though there are bits that make you laugh.

Definitely the ending of Les Miz with the Eponine harmony, the way it is arranged hits me pretty hard...Anything with really good harmonies does it for me actually...that's what I enjoy most about things like OBC Chess "I Know Him So Well" (not that that makes me cry, but their voices together are truly beautiful), and "For Good" from Wicked (Idina and Kristen's vocal chemistry is incredible). And (oh dear, this is where they all figure out I'm gay) Barbra Streisand's harmony with herself singing "A Piece of Sky" on her oh so simply named live concert album, "The Concert", is also striking. Okay...I forgot what we were talking about...oh yes, sadness...how familiar. :0( Updated On: 9/5/04 at 11:57 PM
"Underwater" in Caroline is the most emotional song from a musical I've heard.
the finale of Les Miserables
the scene before "Lot's Wife" in Caroline or Change
the reprise of "All I Ask of You" during POTO
the second half of the second act of The Boy From Oz

Not necessarily sad, but they send shivers right through me:
Die Unstillbare Gier from Tanz der Vampire, at the end, where he predicts total destruction... It's the most scariest sensation, then he holds an angelic note that doesn't even exist
The helicopter and reprisal of Sun and Moon in Kim's Nightmare from Miss Saigon. That has me blubbering
Norma's mad sequence at the end of Sunset Boulevard
You'll Never Walk Alone, when the chorus builds
The Confrontation with the Faerie Queen and Iolanthe in Iolanthe, and the faeries are chanting "willahala, willaloo..." in the background. It's really creepy and sad. Also, Iolanthe's last aria
Memory, the end when it explodes. If you want to know what it feels like to be a volcano, try this song. Seriously
I am not the type to cry at sad parts in shows, but I will list some sad songs or songs that have a lot of emotion:
"Tell Her I Love Her" - Urinetown (actually, some of that was supposed to be funny with the guy running out and spraying Bobby to make it look mystical)
"Maybe This Time" - Cabaret
"On My Own" and "A Little Fall of Rain" - Les Miserables
"Somewhere That's Green" - Little Shop of Horrors
FLYING HOME and the FINALE from "Songs for A New World"
PART OF US from "One On This Island"
Maureen's eulogy right before I'll Cover You (Reprise) RENT
As the TOMB closes in AIDA at the very end
aw.. those moments KILL ME!
umm i can't get into this overly-sentimental, sappy, corny stuff...make me laugh dammit!
Here are some of my favorite emotional moments:
1. The Boy from Oz: "Quiet Please..." When they reveal Judy all in white and she sings for the last time, I got all teary eyed.
2. There are soo many great, genuine emotional moments in Ragtime, I can't believe no one has mentioned them.
*New Music: When Sarah finally emerges from the attic, as Coalhouse is singing to her, she pauses at the bottom of the steps for a moment and then runs and jumps into his arms....so beautiful it made me cry
*Til We Reach That Day: Coalhouse's anger vs the sorrow of the entire company matched with the power of those lyrics, it's the most powerful Act 1 Finale I've ever seen.
* Finale: When Mother calls for Little Coalhouse and the little boy runs on stage, as the ghosts of his parents sing Wheels of a Dream, you could tell there wasnt a dry eye in the house.

Parade has millions of them. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.
And then, in Caroline...
All of Lot's Wife, including the scene directly before it with Dotty. Wow. I almost cried while watching it and then again when I heard the recording for the first time.

I have to agree with LuvUrBatBoy in more ways than one - Ragtime has so many powerful scenes. I am always overwhelmed by "Til We Reach That Day."
Javert's Suicide in Les Miserables is too much for my frail spirit.
It's easier to say what doesn't make me cry in Miss Saigon...

Blood Brothers- "Tell Me It's Not True"... the song has me bawling... and if you've seen the show, you'd know. Truly beautiful. No wonder it hasn't missed a standing ovation.
From the ONLY two shows that have made me come close to crying...
BARE:
When Jason sings "Forever, you and I" in the song "Bare".
In the song "No Voice", when Nadia sings, "Dear Jason, there will be tears today, but we'll get through. You'll be there. I'll leave a chair for you; you made it, too. You held your mystery so close, but I knew... I knew your way. Never found the words to say... Always thought we'd talk one day."
ELEGIES:
From the song "Anytime": "I'll be there on the baseball field. Though I'm well-concealed, I'll be out there, cheering."
From the song "Good-bye": "I would like to say it's been a privelege living my life with you." / "The living was the prize; the end is not the story."
i don't remember if i answered but definatelly i'll cover you reprise from rent. And someone mentioned will i. That also is very emotional for me.

Performing Daddy's Son from Ragtime
Also, Halloween from Rent. I relate to Mark so much that I can't handle that song...I've cried from that song til the show ended.
Halloween - RENT
"Gold hair with a gentle curl,
thats the girl he chose,
and heaven knows,
I'm not that girl" - Wicked
PARADE
Tomb Scene - Aida
I agree on "Tell Her I Love Her"...but it is also one of my favorite songs.
Also "Make Them Hear You" from Ragtime.
The only song to make me cry (to date) has been "My Dogs" from "Elegies." It destroys me every time. Although, "Anytime (I Am There)" has come very close.

This part actually wasn't on Broadway, but it should have been:
In Les Miz, during Bring Him Home, Jean Valjean sings:
"You can take,
You can give,
Let him be,
Let him live,
If I die,
Let me die,
Let him live,
Bring him home,
Bring him home,
Bring him home."
Anyway, when I was doing Les Miz, our director decided to suprise us by adding Eponine in that part. So we were all pretending to be sleeping (we were the revolutionaries), and that part gives me chills anyway, so when our Eponine walks onstage as an angel, and sings it (keep in mind that she has one of the most beautiful voices ever), we all just lost it. It was a great moment. So anyway, that's my story. *ducks tomatoes*

All right so I'm gonna sound like a total loser but here goes. Yes, I know it's cliche but "For Good" really did actually get a tear in my eye. And I never cry. I didn't cry but I could feel myself getting emotional. ALWAYS, Les Miz. The end is amazing. It will always be my favorite. And I actually have a new one, during "Days of Plenty", the very end when Maureen is belting it out, something like: "So believe that she's with you. And believe that she always will, she will always be with you. She'll be part of the days you've yet to fill." And with Sutton/Jo sitting on the side of the stage unable to be consoled (I guess that's the word)... Oh my gosh I just get chills.
