I knew this was probably going to happen. I'm guessing this isn't the last we'll see of it, however.

I didn't think moving it uptown would best thing for the show. This will keep going afterward though.

You're right, Becoz. It priced itself right out of its own market when it moved.

I can't for the life of me understand how a show trippling it's price and tacking on an additional average of $15 per performance could fail to find an audience!
But seriously, I hope they return to Joe's Pub and get back the packed houses they had a few months ago.

It worked well when it was a once-a-month thing. I can't see who their daily audience would be.

They were constantly giving discount coupons out in Times Square, Walt, trying to get the tourist market.

Ah...
I still don't get why they thought that would work.

Regardless of the reasoning or logic behind the move, it's still unfortunate for the many talented people involved that it's not having a longer run. I am sure it will return in some capacity.. As I've always maintained - it's one of the "it" things to do and proved that over the past year.
They had some fierce talent in the core cast - not to mention Sarah, Steve, Dan and David.
I mean really.. Nicole Parker's amazing ability to improv a song on cue - and they sounded as if they BELONGED on Broadway?

Ironically, Craig, the other person I saw up there who was able to do that just as well was Donna Vivino.
Must have been a prerequisite to play that role in FBM.

This is sad! I was really surprised when I heard earlier today that it hadn't been doing well. It was much better suited to be a montly thing, but a great, fun idea nonetheless. I saw it at Joe's Pub and had a blast.

Coinciedentally, I've been aware of this for several days. Luckily we were given a bit advance warning to be able to see the show at least once more.
I know that I will be there.

Yeah, no, it's totally fun, I just don't think it's ever been one of the *it* things.

Damn...I missed it by one week. I was so looking forward to seeing it. Color me so sad.

Nicole Parker is a hysterical comedian with a killer voice. I'd love to see her take on a role like Fanny Brice that would combine these talents.
She's definetly one to watch!

That's such a bummer. I never did get to see it down at Joe's Pub, but, have seen it several times since it moved uptown and loved it... I hope they keep going in some capacity somewhere.

DQYNJ is awesome! So sad that they announced it is closing! But bring your friends and family and everyone this weekend. Apparently it may be a tentative closing date...
If you haven't seen the youtube clips (yes they are legal) of DQ from Joe's Pub, go check them out to see what a funny and amazing show this is. My favorites are the madlibs of Sutton Foster singing Gimme Gimme, and Celia Kennan-Bolger singing On My Own.

This really bums me out, I was supposed to go the 21st. Oh well.
Hope this is not the last we hear from them.

I really really really hope they bring this back to Joes Pub. It was a lot of fun when it was just once a month for 15 dollars, past my bedtime, in a bar, in Manhattan, and sitting in an audience full of Broadway and Off-Broadway actors.

She's not. An actress ( her name escapes me) who's in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, is in her place.
