Didn't Will Swenson just do a reading for this? And I know he is busy with Hair. For some reason, I thought he was attached to this. Just like Playbill.com has Gavin Creel still attached to Godspell LOL

Definitely more interested with Stark Sands attached to the project - takes the edge off having to deal with another WIldhorn score.

When this production was first announced I mused in a thread on this board whether or not Laura would be going to California. I knew she would be done SP in time.

I, personally, think this is a fabulous opportunity for Laura. The role of Bonnie Parker is so, drastically, different from anything Laura has done thus far. I don't know how well the book is written but this could really enable her to flex her acting muscles. I really hoped that she would get the part to help her break out of her mold. This could really help her career.

What ever happened to THE BALLAD OF BONNIE & CLYDE?

Dana Rowe (THE FIX, WITCHES OF EASTWICK) wrote the score and it got very good reviews at the Fringe Fest or wherever a few years ago.

TWO other takes on the story have made it further? Dana really can't get a break in the US, sheesh!

"From Wildhorn's track record he's probably replaced the terrible songs with even more terrible ones.

The Jekyll and Hyde concept recording is pretty damn fantastic. I'll never understand"

Probably ... but not to comment too much on J&H, but several of the changes for Broadway worked better than before. The best desicions, however were the orchestration tune-up (got rid of those '80s sounding things!) and the set design (for the most part) ..!

I don't think Frank will be listening to any directors telling him to make a show more family friendly but cutting a saucy prostitute song (Bring on the Men) by trying to tell the audience she is actually a lounge singer, with still a partial prostitute dance / she was obviously a prostitute. Oh well! Remember all that "necessary" nudity in DRACULA, the musical? Haha.

Got a last minute invite to the reading they did today.... and absolutely loved it. Theres some definite tweaks that need to be made, but the whole cast put in a great performance. Laura and Stark have great chemistry, and pretty much every single cast member had a moment to shine. Looking forward to the La Jolla production, it will be interesting to see what gets changed.

This is a country & blues score. Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure is all over the map / mostly pop-y.

Havana is in serious talks to have a production (finally) in late 2010/2011, from what I've heard...remember when they were supposed to have it (still with Linda) in 2001? Pssh! Hahah.
