re: Sarah Brightman

I can't say I totally detest Sarah Brightman, but there is just something about her vocal quality that I've always found slightly annoying. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is.

re: Sarah Brightman

In one of the recent articles about the Gala (can't remember which) ALW said that he wished she could be there, but she had concerts. I believe that she sang with one or more of the four Phantoms they asked back for the London 10th anniversary. According to all accounts, the two of them get along fine.

Of course, they could spring her as a surprise. Like either of them or not, having both Sarah B. and Michael C. on the stage together again if only for a bow would be a theater moment.

re: Sarah Brightman

She does seem to tour alot so I guess that could be a reason. As for her voice, I think it's pretty it's just she seems so spaced out and there's no emotional involvement in what she's doing, she's like a scary creepy robot when you watch her...and how she gets her mouth to do what it does just freaks me out. I bought her last dvd and seriously was scared most of them time, listening to her speak is worse lol. Not meaning to bash her, I like her vocal performance in "Phantom" (though I think she should be pushed off a cliff for attemption "Song and Dance"/"tell me on a sunday"/whatever). la la la.

re: Sarah Brightman

Ok folks, I don't know if this is true, but it sounds too good to be not true: A friend of mine was working for a Phantom Production and heard from someone in the Office of ALW, that when ALW divorced Brightman, she got the rights for "Christine". Technicly that means, she could walk in any production at any age and demand to play Christine.....

What do you guys think about that?

re: Sarah Brightman

Well she's said it herself a couple of times that she has no desire of doing musical theatre again. So...

And I heard that she got the rights for the RECORDING, meaning that no other full length stage recording would be made in English without her. That's why the Canadian cast recording is only "Highlights".

re: Sarah Brightman

I saw here in ASPECTS OF LOVE. Sadly, she has very little (and that is being generous) acting skill.

re: Sarah Brightman

no acting skill? that's really not surprising.

re: Sarah Brightman

wonderwaiter, they may have her as a guest, I know she has her own schedule, but... When someone here called her "Chipmunk" I recalled how badly Broadway treated her. If I were Sarah I'd send a bottle of piss with a note saying "DRINK THIS!"
They never deserved her or Phantom here.
Just reading that post took me back to 1987 and all the crap between ALW and New York. He should have said "Tough" and forgot the whole damn thing. I remember it all clearly now. I was around then.

re: Sarah Brightman

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

You know, if she did that my respect for her would increase by 300% at least. Unfortunately, she and Andrew are so.... British. They're just too polite for their own good.
And no one grew into anything new, we just became the worst of what we were."

re: Sarah Brightman

LOL! Then Here's to Sarah sending Phantom's Broadway Gala a bottle o' Piss! I'll bet she made the one in London where they love her - and I'd love to hear anyone crying "Chipmunk" hit any of her notes!
