it seems like they should be announcing the cast soon? isn't this going up in October? I wonder if they're transferring most of the Kennedy Center cast...

I also thought it was the Kennedy Center cast transferring. I would, however LOVE to hear Natalie Venetia Belcon sing that score.

Most of the Kennedy Center cast is indeed transferring to Broadway.

Manoel Felciano (Tateh,) Jennlee Shallow (Sarah,) Donna Migliaccio (Emma Goldman,) Leigh Ann Larkin (Evelyn,) and the two actors who played the children weren't available to move with the show, so they'll be replaced.

Most of the Kennedy Center cast is transferring. They're re-casting the roles of Tateh, Sarah, Emma Goldman, Evelyn Nesbitt, and the two children.

I'd love for them to get Anika Noni Rose as Sarah.

I wish it was Audra, but that is never going to happen. You know what's weird is that Anika is only 2 years younger than Audra. But she reads so much younger.

Yes...yes I did. Which is precisely why I said it.
Besides the"been there done that" aspect of it, others may think Audra is now too old for the role. My point was is that there really isn't much age difference between her and Anika...but Anika seems younger. Not that Audra doesn't look awesome, because I think she looks better than ever.

Yeah, Anika is one of those actresses (like Kerry Butler) who reads much younger onstage than her actual age.

Is anyone else not really feelin' this revival? I mean... why do a revival when pretty much the whole original cast could still play their parts? With the exception of Lea Michele. I've heard positive things, but I mean it only closed on Broadway 8 9 years ago right? It just seems a little soon.

I can not picture Sasha Allen in that role at all. Not one bit. Plus, she's FAR too young.

i dont see Sasha in this role either. She's actually the PERFECT age...but I dont think she has the acting chops for Sarah.

It's not the acting that's the problem, it's the singing. Sasha doesn't have the right voice for Ragtime.
