Ah...sorry backwoodsbarbie. I often have trouble getting sarcasm through, as well.
Hey no problem jazzy, I don't take anything too seriously around here haha!
After seeing RUINED this weekend at City Center, I think Condola Rashad would make a RAVISHING Sarah! Her voice was spectacular, and her acting and presence was out of this world. What a girl to watch!
I would LOVE to see Anika Noni Rose in the role as well.. what a great casting choice that would be. She'd be amazing. Has she done the role anywhere before, like regionally? It would be amazing if that happend for the transfer.

Anika would be great as well. I just think Renee really deserves to get this role. She was heartbreaking in that RENT filming and she has a lovely voice (that is well suited for Sarah). She really needs a 'star-making' role, and this part could do just that.

As long as it isn't Michelle T. Williams. Her "performance" and "singing" in Aida was the most amateurish thing I've ever seen.

A while back, I found a clip of her singing 'Easy as Life' and she didn't even look like she was TRYING to act. I would hate to judge her entire performance just by one 57 second clip, but if that's what her whole performance was like...it would not have been good.

I sat through her entire performance, and that's exactly what it was like.
Compared that to this performance:
Maya Days as Aida

Well...my clip was legal, right?
You posted b-roll from a television program, which is perfectly legal. The other video posted is a bootleg, which isn't.
On the subject of Maya Days, she's hardly the example you should be using when critiquing Michelle Williams' performance. While Days was a brilliant actress, her voice was subpar in comparison to most of the women who played Aida (she's horridly flat in the clip that's been provided here.)
Unfortunately, no one was able to replicate Heather Headley's stunning brilliance in the role, though Merle Dandridge and Deborah Cox came closer than most.
Michelle Williams in AIDA looked like an escape mental patient who wandered on to the stage of the Palace Theatre.

Michelle Williams will probably be Chicago's Roxie this fall. Apparently she is quite good in London.

I certainly hope that she's improved.
Stephanie Umoh would be fantastic. She played the role at New Rep in Boston a number of years ago and was excellent. She was a student at the time, and she's only gotten better since then. This would be the perfect 'break out' performance for her.
According to her Facebook, Stephanie Umoh was just cast as Sarah!! Yay BOCO!!
So proud of her! She's going to bring down the house!
